Have you also tried experimenting with other words besides "daddy" to see if they elicit the same response?
I had a girl on a leash once (hilariously, she was another soldier in my unit at the time so she was a "strong and independent woman" outside of that hotel room) and have done the whole dominant thing but I never had anyone call me daddy just because that word had a weird feeling to it. As for why it is exciting to so many women, I think it is due to the fact that most of them have probably never followed a strong and competent male lead and that the form of pornography most commonly viewed by women is that in which a female is being dominated and/or abused somehow.

Another factor is probably that women do not generally like being responsible for things. Who takes away her responsibility more than daddy?
