Who says you can't do whatever you want (and have side pieces) when you have a girlfriend? To me a girlfriend is for the sake of convenience. She's there for sex so you don't have to spend precious time chasing tail. Also, always nice to have someone to chat with, especially if you don't have any male friends (because of constantly moving cities etc).
