This was probably 30ish years ago or so. Keep in mind, I don't come from a high society family either, so Mr. Lemon might not be totally off the mark.

That said, I'm not sure how common that was.

Have you considered the possibility that what your parents tell you about how they met might be untrue? I'm pretty sure we were all told cutesy stories about 'true love' and how 'it was meant to be'.

I was. Then I got a rude awakening from my older, embittered half brother that made me look at my parents a whole lot differently.
