Yeah that's the guy. He has a few videos up and he's bloody impressive.
I don't know if anybody else does this but when I change to my non native language,Russian,my demeanour changes. As in my voice becomes deeper and I undergo physiological changes subconsciously. I had a UK friend visit me in Kyrgyzstan when I studied there and when he first saw me speak Russian he remarked on how my demeanour changed,I stood straighter and my voice went more alpha. I think that speaking in a different language allows you to escape who you really are for a short time.
I concur. I am sort of semi fluent at another language that is very aggressive and it is impossible to speak this language in a soft manner. It's a very decisive language with no insinuations. When I speak this language, my nostrils flare and my tone becomes more stentorian.
Languages are more than just mere communicative devices, they are tied to a culture and a behaviour. If the culture is alpha, the language will be alpha. If the culture is romantic, the language will be romantic. This assumes that this language was not bastardized due to former invasion and mixed with other cultures..
