I see some people are taking this topic liberally and talking about characters in fictional shows as well.
On that point, Altered Carbon is a very competent sci-fi thriller I watched just this last week.
Nevertheless, the two technological and political masterminds over the last 300 or so years of the Altered Carbon universe are both female.
"Stack technology", the ability to transfer human consciousness between physical bodies, was invented by Quellcrist Falconer, who also doubles up as a guerrilla general extraordinaire boasting the wisdom of Yoda and the fighting skills of him, Emperor Palpatine and Neo from The Matrix combined:
