For the few weeks I was there, I didn't find this at all. Although, I had a decent social circle that I had built on prior trips, and met people through some language clubs that I did for two weekends.

Again, I disagree with this. As above, where did you visit? It isn't Kyiv night-life, but you need to give + take. You get the more traditional girls, less foreigners, but a less superior night life.
But in Ukraine, day-game is king anyways. So this shouldn't be a massive issue.

I don't think living in/visiting these smaller cities is for everyone, personally I need some foreigners to hang out with to pass the time, and there are almost zero in these cities apart from some Turkish, Arabic and Indian students.
If you're looking for quick results, I agree - Western Ukraine is not recommended. But for longer (3+ months) stays, it can be a great source of untapped pussy.
In regards to the foreigner thing, most of my foreign friends end up coming to the West, or I make periodic visits to Kyiv/the East. Additionally, I usually end up creating a good social circle through people met at language clubs, people I meet out etc..as I can decently speak the language as well.
You'd be hard pressed to find Turks/Arabs/Indians in the West, aside from a few that sell their cheap goods. On your average night out (Ternopil aside), you'll seldom see them.
All in all, it depends on what you're looking for.
I've been to Ukraine too many times, and Kyiv gets boring if you're looking for something longer, and a more traditional girl. I said in my original post that Kyiv holds a special place in my heart - but the West is worth exploring for the 'untapped' potential.
