The worst sin in Hollywood is losing other people's money.
I suspected something else was behind this when I first heard the rumblings a few days ago. Most likely Zionist Jews setting up an incredibly-powerful Reform Jew for destruction by using the Reformist's own weapons against them. (In this case, Batshit Feminists).
I think he knew this was coming: just on the 20th of September he publicly-vowed to combat Anti-Semitism and stated both his belief in and allegiance to the State of Israel.
Why?
After a little research:
Unsurprisingly, he's a Reform Jew, and was a very vocal supporter of Obama and a powerful fundraiser for him, then he supported Hillary's Presidental Run. Since he's tied to the Democrats, their increasingly anti-Israel bias has most likely sunk him.
Particularly as he released this film in 2010:

It's a film about "the coming of age of a Palestinian girl named Miral who grows up in the wake of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War and finds herself drawn into the conflict."
Since it doesn't tow the Zionist Line, it caused a stink.
Weinstein personally-decided the best place to hold the film's premiere was at the (increasingly-Anti-Israel) United Nations, to, in classic leftist fashion, "Open a discussion". This would match the Reform Jew / Democrat belief that Israel has no special God-given 'right' to exist, and needs to be held accountable as an ethical actor on the world stage.

The American Jewish Committee had asked the president of the U.N. General Assembly not to screen the film, claiming it portrays Israel "in a highly negative light" and is "blatantly one-sided."
Weinstein, whose The Weinstein Co. is distributing the movie, told The Hollywood Reporter he disagreed with that characterization.
"The people who don't want you to see the movie for political reasons are crazy or wrong," Weinstein said. "I think the idea is, let there be peace."
It was then used by pro-Palestine Academia.

An open public panel discussion about Miral took place on 30 March 2011 at the Center for Palestine Studies at Columbia University with film director Julian Schnabel and Palestinian journalist Rula Jebreal on whose autobiographical novel the film was based. Helga Tawil Souri, Professor of Media, Culture, & Communication at NYU, and Hamid Dabashi, Professor of Iranian Studies & Comparative Literature at Columbia University, led and moderated the panel discussion. During the discussion with the moderators, Schnabel and Jebreal discussed the events that led to the film's premiere at the UN General Assembly. Schnabel described the film as sending a political message in his discussions with UN General Assembly President, Mr. Joseph Deiss.
It's back to the BDS movement against Israel. As such, when criticism increased, Weinstein hid behind 'Free Speech', but since there's currently Bipartisan Support for 'the Palestinian Exception' to Free Speech, you can see how he fucked himself during the Obama years by his allegiance to an anti-Israel President, and, well, Jews have cultural customs about never forgiving this sort of thing.
Two Jews discussing Weinstein's recent speech, the first trying to be reasonable:

Perhaps Mr. Weinstein having come forward more as a public Jew will now counter the slanders against Israel so common on the left.
The second, slapping that idea down:

He’s trying to worm his way into the hearts of the Jewish community which he has previously done so much to destroy.
Apparently, it even pissed off Weinstein's own mother.
Here's a Pro-Israel Writer taking it even further:

Weinstein just seems like another casualty of the Jewish Civil War. Since the Zionists are backing Trump, Bannon* and the Alt-Lite, I find it amusing that a crazy Leftist like Ashley Judd is probably-congratulating herself on her 'bravery' for - unbeknownst to her - doing Trump's work for him.
We should send her a thank you note.
