That is the essence of the argument. Danish men are too dumb to know what they don't have.
That's true of American men too. American men don't know what femininity or girlishness is. When you ask them what they think it means, they'll say, "oh you mean like being high maintenance and flaky?" Even if he were a dyed in the wool white knight, he is, in effect, a true misogynist. His only conception of women as separate from men is negative, because he doesn't know better. When I try to explain what femininity is, I can't even think of a popular movie star or character who embodies it *extremely* well, to the point where the first thing you'd say is, "wow, she is girly." The girls who do are invariably minor characters.
American men have vicarious penis envy. Femininity is this lower, non-existent form of being to them. He secretly wanted a son, but he was too pussy to admit that to himself, so he treats his daughter like she has a penis. On Super Bowl Sunday, I could hear a neighboring 5 year old girl screaming "Patriots you suck! Patriots you suck!" At first the dad cheered her, and then started to stammer awkwardly as he realized the ugliness he was promoting. American women are flawed, but I'd trust our daughters in their hands much sooner than I would in the hands of our men.
And really, this is the problem with anyone who hasn't been properly educated. Sometimes, things are just better than others, but it may take some experience and learning to see it. When it comes to the things they hold dear, to things of which they spend their entire lives studying and enjoying, people often have a very clear idea of what is good and what isn't, whether it's cars, women, or gourmet cuisine. There are different tastes sure, but within them you'll find some things are better than others. If men aren't exposed to the good things like femininity, they'll never want them. It's hard to elucidate a desire for something you've never felt.
