In order to fast and burn some abs fat off, and too give you stomach a break.
This doesn't make a lot of sense to eat a big dinner in my experience. I eat big early for breakfast OR lunch (never both) so my body has time to fully digest by the time I'm ready for bed. If you eat big before bed, you're not exactly giving your system a break. I find when I eat big later at night, my sleep quality is abysmal and the food gets more stored as fat due to inproper digestion. Think about how the "freshman 15" happens. It's basically due to late-night carb binging with improper time for digestion.
