Rich Kids of Instagram meets Hunger Games - Music #FyreFestival turns into nightmare

Is this legal case a slam dunk? On what grounds?

I have an event running past myself. The small print on the back of the ticket was a life saver for me. It isn't like this guy took a bunch of money and flew off to Vietnam to go hide, they attempted to put on a (shitty version) festival and there were no promises that what they were getting. Buyer beware.

The most I can see happening is they get refunds on tickets but nothing else.

Both sides are idiots on this, you call it even and let both sides clean the egg off their faces.

1. Fraud
2. Fraud & negligent misrepresentation - sites may vary is one thing, but if someone promises you top-notch 5-star hotel and delivers a hostel with rooms for 12 people and showers outside, then it is too much
3. Breach of contract

They are suing McFarland and JaRule personally.

It was quick. The law firm probably does it for free (40% share that is) - trial by jury will rip them a new one.

The second lawsuits seems to pull in the celebs into the mix.

Also the company is going full retard attacking the former clients for posting shit on social media:

Despite being built on social media, Fyre Festival ironically now views angry Tweeters as the enemy. Presumably in response to the legal backlash, attorneys for the festival have been reportedly sending cease and desist letters to attendees complaining about the festival online, claiming that the statements are untrue and could “incite violence, rioting, or civil unrest.” Threatening to sue its attendees seems to be a heavy-handed attempt by the organizers to hide the disastrous outcome of their festival, but in all likelihood, this will only add fuel to the fire.

Those shitheads must be sued to kingdom come.

And no - it is grossly negligent to start a festival without proper safety measures, security, food and lodgings on an island that was to be fully booked at that time and everyone knew it months in advance.
