Women do not communicate like men. You cannot take their words at face value. They are not business-like and they do not stick to what they say. Sex is not a "contract". Words are much more fluid for them and indicate their current feelings or a rationalization. Do not take seriously any kind of promise or future guarantee.

Let me translate for you.

"Sure, but not for sex" in man-speak is "I want to meet you and I'm thinking about having sex with you but worried I might come off looking like a slut if I say so and anyway just in case it doesn't work out I don't want to commit to anything just yet."

In my opinion you probably had a shot at laying this girl.

To illustrate how absurd girls can be with this, here is a text conversation I had recently:

If a man said "I'm not wasting my time with you any more" you could rightly assume the relationship is terminated.

If a girl says it, it can have any number of meanings. In this case it was a power play. She tried to get an apology or admission of wrongdoing out of me. I gave her no such thing and responded showing I thought she was being ridiculous and didn't take her seriously. She responded to my complete indifference by getting horny and wanting to fuck me. Do not take women's words at face value like you would a man's.
