In my experience, the bar scene (especially college bars) is easy to crack. The trade off is lack of upper tier talent. The hottest girls are very tough to come across trolling bars / lower tier lounges & clubs. The upper tier talent is of course at the upper tier venues. Are they easy to pull? Of course not...they are universally difficult. I think the conflicting reports out of this city come from high fail rates chasing the upper tier. You can hit up Brass Monkey and get a respectable notch but don't expect any stunners. I think the majority of guys coming to or living in NYC will have a very difficult time pulling a stunner. The stunners have endless options and most guys will not make the cut.
