I know a little about this, but please take it with a grain of salt. I'm in the same age group as you, and have still smashed a few in the 18-early 20s range post 30.

I agree with pretty much all of this.
I'm in my mid 30s, and the youngest I've gone is 24. I usually hang with women in their late 20s or early 30s if I want a girl who's going to stick around for a while - when you start talking ten year age difference the generational and experience gap is so large that there's not much to develop anything more serious on, and even though a fair amount of girls might want to bang an older guy, you have to keep in mind that her peers are probably going to come down on her like the wrath of an angry god if they see her with you on the regular.
The ability to "keep up appearances" and for "plausible deniability" resonates even harder if there's a big age difference.
And even girls in their mid 20s who aren't ever going to set the world on fire with their looks will flake on you mercilessly after the bang as well, even if you're tall, somewhat conventionally attractive, and work out, and financially stable. A homely "5" or "6" making lame excuses and then ghosting after you fucked her from a SNL just twelve hours prior is completely common. You were just a pump and dump to them so they'd have something to cross off their bucket list, or write a blog entry about. It's the way it is.
