The thing is, is that once you leave "western society," one's race almost completely defines how they experience a travel location. Go to Asia, Latin America, EE, South Asia, Africa, etc as a white guy/Chinese/Black/Indian/etc and you will have very different travel experiences. I know. I've travelled to various countries outside the western world, accompanied by friends of different races. The differences in treatment is obvious and meriting of discussion.
Race threads are nearly impossible to eliminate if we really want to have frank discussions about traveling abroad and life in different countries. This stuff is not going away, unfortunately. Race continues to be a motivating factor for a large amount of violence and instability throughout the world. Looking at game race blind sounds good in theory, but is difficult in practice.
That said, there's no need for denigration here, and we can have these discussions with civility and courteousness. Bashing someone's race and religion without any useful context won't serve any purpose here.
Having solid information on travel experiences, classified by race, is a useful tool that, frankly, makes this site far better than any other travel forum out there. We just have to be reasonable.
