Bookstore/Grocery Store Moves

Here are a couple of easy and effective approaches.

Grocery Store: You see a cute girl looking at a food item. You immediately go over and fill your basket with the same item. Not just one, grab like 10 or 15. The girl will look at you kind of funny. Just smile and say "Hi", tell her that you are making a bunch of it for your little sisters birthday.

Bookstore: You see a cute girl looking at a book. Move closer to check out the name of the book. Go to the little in store computer kiosk and look up the name of the book. Get info about the book. Then walk right past the girl and pause to make a comment about the book.

Pretend that these are just totally random encounters. A cool guy and a cool girl just bumping in to each other. Get a little chit chat going and try to vibe with her. If it goes well go for the insta-date and then the number.

Have you tested these out?

In grocery stores, it's common to find a chick who went in to grab one thing, but ends up with both hands full of stuff.

Me: Looks like you bit off a bit more than you can chew.
Her: Ha! I know, but these were on sale. [or some crap like that]

Game on.

If you're in Whole Foods, I like Roissy's line

Me: If it's not overpriced, I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

In a bookstore, I've used a modification of a Roosh line

Me: You know that's a very good book, really worth the investment.
Her: Really? [insert random crap here]
Me: No, I'm lying, but they give me free coffee here if I say that.
Her: hehe

I'm assuming the place sells coffee, otherwise insert something they do sell, gift certificates, magazines, etc.

I've got the dick so I make the rules.

i think a lot of people in other threads have mentioned some good stuff. among my favorites would be:
- putting your items in her basket and then 'realizing' your mistake
- asking a girl how she knows what a good item is from a bad one (fruit, vegetable, etc.)
- asking about cooking suggestions

I think Whole Foods is the gayest place in the world. Every time I've been there, there are actual gay guys there on gay dates.

They have good sandwiches though. On top of that, in the maybe 8 times I've been there I've gotten four phone numbers. 1 never called me back, two i lost to scheduling issues and one cooked me some holistic dinner, then I fucked her extremely hard.

All four of them I got behind at the checkout and made the comment "I guess they don't sell cigarettes here." That got laughs, then comments were exchanged about the overall pussiness of the place, and it's patrons. They all waited after they were paid up, and we walked together outside, where I got the numbers and left.

Aloha!

I work at a grocery store I see a lot of guys hit on chicks and fail. Usually they go the jobs route and make a comment in the checkout kane. The thing is most never have anything to say after the initial comment, or they fuck it up by laughing at their own joke or say something stupid.

This is a more specific move for places where they sell condoms. I was in a grocery store yesterday picking up beer for a party and asking a counter girl-6.5-if they had any condoms behind the counter. She said yes, but they were only the big 12-packs and I only needed a three pack:

Me: Don't you have anything smaller? Like a 3-pack?
Her: Ummmm, let me check. Nope, sorry that's all we have!
Me: (Sigh) Ugh fine, give me the 12-pack. Better than nothing..... I guess.
Her: Hahahahaha! Having a busy night?

should have gotten her number, but had to literally sprint back to my friend's house for the party.

I practically never try to game at a Grocery store, also I buy all my books online so I have no idea about that scene. I'd seriously have an easier time gaming at Gamestop than a Bookstore. Although I do know tons about Science Fiction and Fantasy lol.

In a Grocery store though, I did once start to stock up on liquor and wine for a party. I had about $400 bucks worth of alcohol in my cart, and this gorgeous black girl saw me and gave this weird look. I don't quite remember all that well, but I think I hated that stare she gave me at first. I then asked her "You think I'm getting too much for myself?" she then said in that ghetto slurr way of talking "It's okay as long as you're being safe I guess", then I told her "We should split this bottle(Chardonnay, I forget the name), It's my favorite" then before I could start talking about us taking a trip to the sundry isle to pick out some disposable cups these two Ginormous girls come following her from around the side, and my brain freaks out on me or something. I guess I start sounding like a coward because those two girls killed the mood for me hard, I didn't want to approach her any longer so long as those to hambeast were with her. So in the end I was incredibly lucky to get her cell number and invite her to the party. In the end the party was a huge bust and in the end it was just way too easy for these two monsters to block me from any action.

Somebody get it in writing, quick!

There are some smooth and effective moves in this thread.

This, in my opinion, is good "silly" game. This sort of thing works well with the right kind of girl. Certain highly bitch-shielded, "hot" types will dismiss you as a fleeting, entertainment clown. Off-beat, arty, hipster chicks will eat this shit up.

In my experience, Whole Foods is mix between a fashion runway and a college sorority house before the obesity epidemic. It's the only place where I'm guaranteed to spot several top-shelf specimens every time I go. It's so bad that I sometimes dread going there because I just want to get in and out, but know that I will feel that self-disappointment if I don't approach. Maybe this is unique to the location I happen to frequent, but I love that place.

Whole Foods isn't overpriced: the cover charge is just built into the prices.

Good gimmick. I'm going to try this one out and see if it works for me.

Another winner. The main thing, in my opinion, in grocery/bookstore settings is to avoid the boring, vanilla route but still be interesting. This strikes that chord for me.

Of course, we have to "calibrate" our vibe to fit the girl. More serious with some girls, and more silly with others.

Here are some other options:

Grocery Store: You see a cute girl looking at a food item. You immediately go over and grab the same item. You look at her and say...

"Aren't these good"
"These are soooo good"
"How do you prepare yours?"
"How do you make this?
"You eat this stuff?"
"How do you eat this and stay so skinny?"
"These are great with salami"
"I love these with mozzarella"
"Its better with milk instead of water"
"How do you eat this stuff and stay in shape"

Exactly. Don't ever be "boring and vanilla". You have to approach with flair and "sizzle" (to borrow a term from TheGManifesto)

Set yourself apart from the other 90% of guys who are boring to talk to and be around.

This is especially important in Day Game. They have to remember you when you call 3 days later to invite them out for a drink.

Once the spambot gets the registration process configured they will keep hitting it until something changes and breaks their settings.

That got an actual laugh out of me just now -- that's so pithy and hilarious. Some girls might not "get it", but ones who do will have shown themselves to have a good sense of humor.

It just has this subtle multi-layeredness I'm dying to mansplain:
- obviously the place is too classy to sell smokes, you made a funny about a store everyone's so conscious of
- slight "bad boy" vibe of insinuating you would be purchasing cigs, or reeeally could use one about now
- contrast game that you'd be in such a soy store

Super droll!

Making little cracks like this are perfect "situation openers" -- if anything, it creates a chance to get her to acknowledge you, if she's meeting eyes and laughing at your wit, and you give her the right smirk, it's game on.

This is the kind of vibe I go for in the trains or on the platforms, or outside. I'm usually making a pithy situational crack "to whoever is listening", but I know she'll hear it and smile. However for some reason I am usually a lot less outgoing in grocery stores -- will have to work on that!

I might make a situational opener once in a while, but seldom found the quality woman I was looking for.
Some memorable interactions:
Had an older Mexican lady who was pretty well built on a late night stop for some basics chat me up in line. Somehow we ended up walking out the door together and talking. I pushed for an instadate but she had family waiting. She gave me her housecleaning business card, and a nice kiss goodbye. I never followed up, but I would have smashed that night had she been accommodating.

One cute young Milf (25ish) had her little girl in the cart. I made eye contact and smiled as we walked down one aisle in a store that was nearly empty. As I came down the next aisle, her little girl loudly said to me from the other end of the aisle "I LIKE YOUR BOOTS!". Well I just had to go chat. Mom was cute, but I was married at the time.

Usually for me I just put out a warm vibe, make eye contact and smile. I have been amazed at how outgoing women are in the checkout line. I've run into a couple of acquaintances in the store who were eager to greet me physically. Logistics of Frozen or refrigerated food makes for tougher logistics..
