2 million pesos is equivalent to approx. u.s.$35 dollars per night at todays exchange rate.

it is a large studio apartment with balcony.the bedroom is seperate from the living room.approx.725 square feet with a fully equiped kitchen.
the building is only a few years old within walking distance to the nightlife/resturants/cafes/bars that barrio granada is known for.there is swimming pool, wifi internet, laundry facilities,24hr armed security.these are chica friendly apartments in upscale an neigborhoods(estrato 5).there are no guest fees or taxes.

lol @ the hostel kids that can't afford $35/night. If you can't afford a measly $35- $60/night, then no offense, but you should consider saving up some cash first before trying to take a vacation.

I paid $125/night in Medellin for a luxury apartment and you know what? it was worth EVERY penny. When women came in to that place they were powerless against the gravitational pull of their panties hitting the floor and their back hitting my couch. $35 is a good price for nice studio in a good neighborhood.

I paid $75, but had a similar experience with the ladies. I didn't have a jacuzzi though. My friend always pays $125 and will have a place with multiple rooms, multiple floors, a jacuzzi and very modern interior in a secure high rise.

Cali is a 2nd tier city in a third world country.

With that being said, it looks like this business provides a nice service for moderately wealthy foreigners who want something quick and easy.

Ummmm....well, I have to be honest with you. Yes and NO. If you are looking to fuck the lower strata, poor girls and prepagos that average about a 6/6 in looks, then yes, a hostel is fine, hell even a motel is fine.

however, You can forget about the top notch 8's and above you see on street that look like models on billboards fucking you in a hostel. They have a dozen filthy rich local men throwing money in their face, and most 8's and above have a pimped-out condo of their own in a wealthy neighborhood being paid for by drug money.

They have to see your pimp pad (and whip) in a stratus 6 neighborhood or they will literally turn their back on you and walk away.

If you can manage to get a girl that looks like Natalia Paris, and is the most coveted pussy of Cali to fuck in a hostel, I would love to take pickup lessons from you!

Cali- your prices seem fair, and i'll be sure to give one of your spots a whirl when i'm in town.

Don't be offended by the dreamers here who haven't left their home towns yet but give advice like they are vets. It would be like the owner of a chevette trying to tell the owner of a bentley how to shop for cars.

Yeah but guys...

I am going to colombia from half may to august for 3 months and i will travel through the country. I want to stay flexibel so i think maybe hostels are my best option or not?

If i don't like a city i can move on....If i meet a stunner and she asks me where i stay i can bring her to a place with much more comfort....don't have to fuck her in the hostel...But i am not planning to pay for 3 months every night 35-125 dollars for a bed. (total between 3150-11250)

What's your opinion about this situation?

I guess if you don't have any prospects lined up...you can save money by staying at a cheap hotel until you do.

Most of the guys that I know that come to Colombia on a regular basis plan on getting fucked every night so a nice private pad is indispensible.

I don't know what your experience level is with colombianas but you need to determine how many times you are likely to get laid because it is a lot cheaper to rent an apartment by the month rather than by the day.

Last time I checked, this forum was created as a way for like minded men to help each other shorten their learning curves based on personal experiences.

Mixx and some other guys here helped me out with some information on living in Colombia, after I had already lived in another South American country and traveled in a couple more. I appreciate their help.

Now I myself have lived in Cali for 5 months.

When I got there, my Spanish was weak, I didn't know anybody and I didn't have a huge income.

I started in a dorm at a local university; early in month 2, I moved into a shiny new, 1 bedroom apartment in a middle class neighborhood near that university. The apartment was monthly and didn't require a lease or paper work.

The dorm was $100 a month and the apartment was $450 a month.

When I first came there, I sexed a couple fly girls, but things weren't always as easy as they would have been for me in the States, only because I had to learn the language and culture. Mixx actually met one of the girls I had sexed and gotten into a "misunderstanding" with, after the fact. We bumped into her working in her mall hair salon; him and I shared a little laugh after the akward conversation, I still didn't speak spanish too well yet at that time.

However, the point of this post is that my living situation was NEVER AN ISSUE WITH THE GIRLS!

Female visitors weren't allowed in that dorm, so I took these early chicks to a 25 peso love motel close by, some even on the first date. They weren't models, but they were above average girls.

Did it take a certain finesse? Yes. Impossible? Hardly.

By the time I was leaving (and several girls later), I had a decent grip on spanish and a social circle filled with people Im glad to know. I had also 3 ongoing, concurrent sexual relationships.

GF #1 was a model chick who lived in the same building as me. She had a rich fiance in the States who paid all her expenses (DUMB); she preferred to just have sex and stay indoors when together, so as not to get caught. That means I wasnt spending shit.

GF # 2 was another model chick who lived in a slightly nicer barrio close by. A jaw dropper who could also wax Gabriel Garcia. She also was with a novio wealthier than me, a Colombian cat working the "export business" out off Buenaventura, if you know what I mean. All of our quality time took place in my living room and bed room. No money spent.

GF# 3 was a cute college chick who lived in la zona cafeteria. We used to take weekend bus trips back and forth to link up and enjoy eachother. A few pesos spent.

I manged all of this in a living situation that cost $450 a month.
Pay $1000 a month if you can and want to.

where/how did you find the one bedroom apartment?

this would be more ideal. like i said im not really trying to drop a G on living arrangements. much rather spend that money on going out and traveling around colombia.
