Ok guys here's an idea I would like to present and get some feedback on.

How about we implement a group chat system. We all install a group chat app like (GroupMe) on our phones and create user with similar names like we have on here. Then when one of us need help out in the field he can just ask the group using the app and whoever is online and available at the time can respond.

This way we can get live, in field support from each other.

I'm in, and have never used a group chat app before. Great idea!

It's like a regular chat program except you are talking to a bunch of people at one time. Very much like a chat room or this forum except it's real time.

Implement a private message system in within it as well in the event that one of our phones doesnt support a live chat system.

Not a bad idea at all. The only issue is that it could get convoluted with 30 people chatting at the same time...

Lots of good potential though.

We would need to do some testing to work out the details.

Good idea, expecially if we can also implement the function to switch from the forum chat to one on one private live conversations.

Why not just befriend someone in your city? I guarantee you'll get a lot more value out of it, provided you meet someone cool.

This is a not a replacement for that. If you look at my signature you will see I have an open invite. I have also attempted
to arrange meet ups in Miami. Do you know how many people I have met so far in Miami? Exactly 1.

IRC or then Skype which has chat rooms as well, but IRC is probably better since it's decentralized in the way that you don't have to ask anyone for an invite whereas in Skype you would.

I know Skype won't work but will look into IRC.

An IRC room is basically an open invitation to get trolled, diluted and targeted by online marketing. You'd either have to make it private and give out the password to very few people, or create a bot that rejects spam. Unfortunately, I dont think any of existing bots out there will work for this, so unless someone wants to put in considerable time into writing scripts for this, I don't see how this will be useful at all.

One solution I can think of would be to use login information from this site, i.e., the same credentials you use for this site would work for the chat room. But we would need to authenticate with Roosh's server for that (if Roosh even has access to that information, since this is powered by MyBB). If anything, we might have to look at MyBBs open source code and figure this out. In any case, unless someone has a month of free time, this ain't going to happen.

If there's not an app that does this there should be...and could be.

Deal with it when and if it becomes a problem. Spam on IRC is generally not a problem in small and private/secret (+s) channels. As for trolls, I don't see it as very likely to happen so often that you need measures other than occasional kickban.

Considering how many people lurk this forum, it would not be a small private channel.

Guys, the functionality specs would require it to be a closed, moderated system. You would post a question then people could reply very similar to a Q&A site but with real-time notification on your phone.
