I apologize if this thread has been done before but it didn't come up when I searched for it.

I've decided to attempt to better myself while I am at work since I have a job where I can listen to my Ipod all day. The last two months or so, I've been listening to comedy/life podcasts, which are funny and entertaining and can be educational as well. For the most part, it's been Joe Rogan (which I highly recommend), Bill Burr and some Adam Carolla.

As cool as those podcasts are, I want to find some educational ones that are specific. The last week or so, I've been listening to one that teaches Spanish to beginners, but I have about 8 hours a day to listen to podcasts on the clock.

I'm looking for a good PUA/seduction/alpha male behavior podcast as well as ones discussing astronomy, history, conspiracy theories, philosophy, self improvement, or anything else interesting and mind-expanding.

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

I've been getting into podcasts as well. I keep my bluetooth earphone on all day, listen in the car, while I'm having lunch too.

I really like Monocle. Its an international magazine from London, which can at times be a bit flippant but I really like the content and the lifestyle. It focusing on travelling and a global worldview.

Wall Street Journal and BBC morning news in the AM to keep up with the world.

looking for more recommendations of frequently updated podcasts. They are pretty addicting.

Slate has a bunch of good podcasts. the sports ones are good.

NPR's Planet Money is the shiznits.

I like to rip the audio off of game DVDs (and longer youtube vids) and listen to them when working out, especially the RSD ones, which are phenomenol.

I like The Joe Rogan Experience, and EconTalk with Russ Roberts. I've listened to a couple of Math Thoughts by Bryan Callen which is also good. FitCast and The Paleo Solution are good for health and fitness. Every now and then I'll listen to the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

I'm going to try to listen to one by Tim Ferris and Kevin Rose (well known Silicon Valley entrepreneur) called The Random Show, although they don't put out podcasts much I can always listen to the old ones.

I commute 1.5-2 hours to and from school 5 days a week so when I'm too tired to read a book podcasts are the shit.

Honestly, dangerandplay.com and Mike are probably doing some of the most profound podcasts out there. Listen to all of them. Often times the titles don't properly reflect the content of the podcasts, so you've just got to listen to them all.

But he has some incredible knowledge and insight. It's a must listen for anyone.

I know it's produced by NPR, but I'm a big fan of Planet Money. http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/

Topics ranging from "what is a sandwich?" to the war in Ukraine and the debt crisis in Iceland. They are about 20 minutes each.

Just listened to one of Tim Ferriss' newest podcasts, and regardless of what you think about Tim, this is a great edition with a lot of knowledge that would be interesting and relevant to men on this forum:

“Discipline equals freedom.”
– Jocko Willink

Jocko Willink (@jockowillink) is one of the scariest human beings imaginable.

He is a lean 230 pounds. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert who used to tap out 20 Navy SEALs per workout. He is a legend in the Special Operations world. His eyes look through you more than at you.

He rarely does interviews, if ever. But, a few weeks ago, Jocko ended up staying at my house and we had a caffeinated mind meld. Here’s some background…

Jocko enlisted in the Navy after high school and spent 20 years in the SEAL Teams, first as an enlisted SEAL operator and then as a SEAL officer. During his second tour in Iraq, he led SEAL Task Unit Bruiser in the Battle of Ramadi — some of the toughest and most sustained combat by the SEAL Teams since Vietnam.

Under his leadership, Task Unit Bruiser became the most highly decorated Special Operations Unit of the entire war in Iraq and helped bring stability to Ramadi. Jocko was awarded the Bronze Star and a Silver Star.

Upon returning to the United States, Jocko served as the Officer-in-Charge of training for all West Coast SEAL Teams, designing and implementing some of the most challenging and realistic combat training in the world.

Nomad Capitalist Podcast by Andrew Henderson. A lot of tin foil hat type of stuff there, but most episodes are pretty interesting.

Tim Ferriss - a lot of good interviews.

Tropical MBA- good material, but these guys have been too lazy recently and didn't make a lot of new podcasts.

I have a few recommendations

1. Tim Ferris Podcast - very useful/action driven information with very good guest. Check out the episode with Wim Hof, Robert Rodriguez, Jamie Foxx, and Tara Blanch. To name a few.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-...97795?mt=2

2. Bagged - Fairly new show. Two dudes talk shit about modern dating. They cover new age topics (like netflix and chill), plus they mic up betas and listen to them spit game in the field. Nice mix between intelligence and ignorance.

https://itunes.apple.com/tt/podcast/bagg...79517?mt=2

3. Bulletproof Radio - The Bulletproof coffee guy (Dave Asbury). Very much comparable to Tim's but sticks with science-y categories

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/bull...95014?mt=2

All iTunes links. If you have an android do your own leg work lol
