I thought this thread was about Jada Pickett-Smith, Will Smith's wife, I just saw on MSN the other day that she now has a skrillex style hair cut with the sides shaved, and it looks atrocious. That Jennifer Lawrence chick definitely looks better with long hair, the short haircut is a down grade, but I wouldn't say it's hideous. It can't compete with the skrillex or whatever the fuck style you call the shit that Miley Cyrus has.

I'm wondering what's driving this trend of ugly haircuts, I'm guessing that these women aim to look "edgy", but really they just look ugly. I may be way off, but I feel like there are some women in porn who could possibly be driving this trend. Not sure, how much a pornstar can influence mainstream society or hollywood, but there is a porn ho, "Christy Mack" who rocks some weird skrillex style mohawk with shaved sides. She's fucking hot, but would for sure look better with normal hair, since she came onto the scene, it seems like more porn bitches are copying her style.

I don't know anything about her, but WTF? She's only 23? To my eyes, that cut added a good six years to her appearance. Long hair = celebrity. Short hair = suburban child-care worker.

I've recently seen an article praising these women as having attained a higher state of consciousness and being the leaders of throwing off the shackles of patriarchal oppression. This (western) world is fucked. Not only have women become lazy and don't care about their appearance because they know that they will always have a thirsty beta or the government to bail them out, but now this shit is even celebrated as something spiritual.

I actually saw a hipster girl tonight that looked great with short hair. It doesn't work for 99.9999% of women. But there is a super small margin or girls who pull if off well. Would she have looked better with long hair? Probably.

I'm curious, what does a girl who looks good with short hair look like? Can you give me any examples? Even if our tastes differ I'm still quite curious.

There are girls who look good with short hair. The problem is that they look good in spite of their short hair, not because of their short hair. An important but often overlooked distinction.

They are so naturally aesthetic that even with short hair they look good.
Halle Berry is the feminist go-to example of this.
She still looks better with long hair though.

I honestly can't think of a single example of a woman who looks better because she cut her hair shorter. It simply doesn't exist.

This short hair trend is driven mostly by homosexual stylists who convince these women that short hair is flattering on them. Once a few do it, they call it a trend, then many others follow suit to stay trendy.

It's not like women suddenly wake up one day and say to themselves, "Wow, I should really cut off my hair! I think I would look a lot better that way."

Women are herd creatures, and when they repeatedly see something portrayed as popular in the media they will inevitably become interested in it.

As for why homosexuals do this to women, well, I don't think it's a conspiracy or anything. I think they do it subconsciously more than anything else: they like short haircuts on women because it makes them look more masculine, and thus more pleasing to the eye of a homosexual man, who is drawn to the masculine rather than the feminine. And then you have the non-participating women who will still pay lip service to the trend or even encourage it in order to sabotage the beauty of other women who chop off their hair. And most of this, too, I believe is subconscious. Women do it without realizing it. It's not that they intentionally encourage their friends to cut their hair short, it's that they derive pleasure from the fact that they themselves will become more sexually attractive in comparison to the friend that does. It's like an instant SMV boost to them relative to their friend.

And so it is that homosexual hair stylists and competitive female beauty saboteurs together, without formal conspiracy or planning, end up turning hotties into dyke lookalikes on the reg.
