Just voted:

No lines, no waiting. I was #208, which is similar count during a Presidential election (except for Obama's 1st term which had a really high turnout). So in a non-hipster neighborhood the turnout is higher than a typical midterm, but not record shattering.

Anyone know anywhere you can get good bets on this internationally? I can’t get predictit where I am.

7 votes straight Rs and only male judges in Cali. We need to win back this state if we want to win the cultural war. Repubs ignore Cali to their detriment. The opponent of Adam Schiff is a decent pro-Trump guy from NJ with Armenian roots. Schiff's district is 40% Armenian and Repubs could have easily galvanized them but I haven't witnessed any effort from them.

The Republican party in NJ has a fart in a hurricane level of effectiveness. Almost as bad as California.

Hugin is supposedly making a huge run in New Jersey. Maybe this goes from very unlikely to a possible upset.

Being a citizen has no bearing on what state you live. You are a citizen when you are born here or the person has applied and gone through the citizen process.

DACA are not citizens. They are legal resident and like many can legally work. They cannot vote.

The thing is, we all know it isn't just legal residents that are voting but also illegals since many states are giving away licenses and automatically add those who get a license to voter registrars.

I never understood this. If Schiff didn't constantly kiss the Armenian's asses they would vote republican in a heart beat.

Then again the people involved in their political institutions are fairly liberal.

Bad news.

Translation - the turnout in Miami-Dade is slightly higher than in 2016. That isn't good news.

Granted, there are a lot of conservative Cubans there who very much helped put Trump over the top, but it's not what you want to see and might be enough to undo the Republican advantage everywhere else in the state. The panhandle also may not be enough to offset this.

It's far from over, but this is going to come down to the wire.

Basically everyone I know down here posted pictures of their "Democratic Voter's Guide" on social media.

Two realizations:

1. I need new friends.

2. Democrats need a guide to know who their party members are.

It's possible that this is the result of displaced Puerto Ricans after Hurricane Maria voting in this election (obviously they didn't vote in Miami-Dade in 2016). Thankfully, most have a positive view of Rick Scott

By contast, more than 55 percent have a good or very good opinion of Gov. Scott — a whopping 82 percent among those who moved to Florida since 2017 when Hurricane Maria devastated the island.

Scott has repeatedly visited the island since Maria and aggressively courted Puerto Ricans in Florida. He is challenging Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, who has been sharply critical of the Trump administration's response to the disaster.

Nelson is considerably less popular among recent transplants to Florida, with 57 percent having a positive view of the Senator, lower than his Republican colleague, Sen. Marco Rubio, who was viewed positively by 61 percent.

Probably won't help with the governor's race, though

Indeed, that's what I was worried about. Will those new voters tip the balance?

Again, I stress it's far from over. Most Republican strongholds also broke 2016's turnout and there's still more to come in the panhandle, I think.

But I'll reiterate that the governor's race is more important than the Senate race. Gillum is corrupt, insane, and also a potential star for the Democrats. It's essential that he not be allowed to build a national profile. If you thought Obama was bad in his courting of the crazies, he'll be a pipsqueak in comparison.
