For about 5 months I am in the process of rebuilding my social circle from (almost) scratch, after seeing that it's completely useless to cold approach in my city. Here are a few thing that I discovered:

1. It takes a lot of time. It's a long term process. Because all my social circles were more or less given to me and, now, I have to rebuild from scratch, I am baffled by how long it takes and frequently I get impatient. I think that impatience will be a game-killer with the ladies.
2. If you search hard enough, you'll find people to begin with. They won't all stick around, so the more the merrier.
3. At first, you are not in the position to be very selective. So, don't be. Don't bother if, apparently, you won't be havine much in common with the other person. Long-term you will wither find, or you'll break contact. Plus, it's a lesson in how to adapt to different kinds of people.
4. I am not sure yet, but here girls do a good part of the choosing and are more straightforward with this. Of course, it's your job to do the rest, though.
5. Being social surely helps alot, along with having interesting things to say. However, there are the quiet persons. And here, for me, the waiting game begins. It's quite tough because I don't have any problems with talking to them, or to strangers in general, but I need to adjust to their personality.
   

I looked around RVF for topics related to social circle game and I found 1, 2, 3 and 4. I tried to add here things that I did not found in the previous links.

I may take this too far, but I noted on Evernote quite a few things about the social circle I want to build: the guys I know and want to meet, along with a few details about them, notes about where I am at, my sticking points, etc.
