You're not going to find any articles in the MSM, but here are two from some well known alt-media sources:

But I wouldn't give the CIA all the credit. The U.S. can support a coup like the one in Ukraine through the powerful network of NGO's and other civil society groups they've developed. They give out grants to groups that promote 'democracy' in countries like Ukraine, that we want to bring more into our camp (Notice how there are no major US democracy programs in Saudi Arabia). These organizations then create information campaigns, hold protests, and Western governments give them the push needed to have a full-on coup.

For Pete's sake, John McCain went to Maidan:

He was also in Egypt supporting the Muslim Brotherhood...

The USG never thinks about the endgame. They see an opportunity to cause destabilization or bring a country into the Western orbit, and strike. Most of the time it fails to work, and can even backfire.
