Trip Report: Oaxaca, Mexico - OGNorCal707 - 02-23-2013

Okay guys, here is a little trip report about Oaxaca, Mexico. Unfortunately, not much to tell about game wise, as I´ve suffered from strike out after strike out, as well as bouts of bad luck and bad logistics.

I flew directly into the city of Oaxaca and ended up getting sick my first 4 days that I was there. That put the kibosh on going out my first weekend, and apparrently Friday and Saturday nights are really the only two nights a week with decent nightlife so I didn´t bother going out the rest of my time there.

Oaxaca city is a small city in the foothills of mountains and surrounded by valleys. It is a beautiful place, a colonial Spanish city with really well perserved architecture, stone streets, and a beautiful zocalo (town square) with a really nice church.

The women in the city of Oaxaca are predominantly from the Zapotec indigenous tribe and are some of the least attractive that I have seen in Mexico. The people seem nice and are friendly, but unfortunately I'd estimate that only 5% of the people speak conversational English and another 10% speak a few words and phrases.

I got good eye contact from girls walking around the city, and a guy with good Spanish would have lot's of opportunities for day gaming there, but like I said the women aren't very attractive, although there are a decent amount of 6's and some 7's, though anything that is an 8 will either be a tourist or a woman from another part of Mexico. Since I only speak a very minimal amount of Spanish and barely no one speaks English, I didn't bother trying to spit game at the local women.

It is too bad I was sick Friday and Saturday nights, Friday night I was literally bedridden all day and night, but I went out to dinner on Saturday and there was a lot of people out and a lot of energy in the air. It was some kind of minor Mexican holiday and the streets were full, they were lighting fire works over the city, and I could tell the bars were probably jam packed. There is a street called Alcala that is pedestrian only, stretching from the zocalo to the famous Santo Domingo Church, the street is full of cafes, restaurants, a few bars, art gallerias, etc., and was full of people. I saw some legitimately hot women there, most of which were probably from Mexico City, because apparently Oaxaca is a very popular weekend destination for the middle and upper class people from D.F. to visit.

I stayed at a hostel in Oaxaca and just my good luck it was full of cute girls the days I was sick and feeling miserable, and then cleared out and became full of dudes, couples, and frumpy chicks once I was feeling better. I did attempt to run game on a gourgeous Mexican girl who was staying at the hostel while looking for an apartment, she was a shy, artsy chick who was there to learn the indigenous style of weaving. I thought we hit it off, and hung out in a group setting the first two nights, and then went out to dinner my last night there, just the two of us. She was laughing at all my jokes, engaged in flirting, and accept all my touching (kino), but when I went in for the kiss, she recoiled and totally rejected me. She was for sure a very shy girl and I think she is legitimately a "sexual camel", the type of girl that will go months without sex. Supposedly she claimed she found me attractive and I am better looking than any boyfriend she's had, but she moves really slow and wants to spend a lot of time with a guy before any romance occurs. She was 22 and only claimed to have had 2 boyfriends, it's possible that she was lying to not hurt my feelings, but I think she was telling the truth. This girl was from Puebla near Mexico City and was a solid 8.5 in my book, she had a model face, but only weakness was she had small breasts.

Oaxaca city is a cool place, I never once felt uneasy or unsafe there. The zocalo, churches, and architecture are really beautiful. I did do a few things like visit the ruins on a mountainside called Monte Albon, but mostly I just chilled out, walked around town, hung out in the zocalo and sipped some good coffee. It is nice to see that people there can have fun just hanging out with their friends and family, little kids just play tag, or whatever, it´s not like in the U.S. where everyone has their face attached to an iphone or ipad 2, and little kids can have fun just playing, without complaining about wanting to play XBox or whatever.

The highlight of my time in Oaxaca City was taking a day tour out into the mountains to this spot called Hievre del Agua, which means boiling water in Spanish. The mountains and valleys out there are spectacular scenary filled with rock formations, cactus, and other cool trees and plants. Hievre del Agua is an amazing geological formation, where mineral water bubbles straight up out of the rocks on the side of this mountain cliff and pour through smoothed out rocks into two natural pools that are right on the side of the cliff. The water than drips over the cliff side to create what is called a petrified waterfall, which looks like stalagtites hanging on the side of the cliff face. It might not sound so cool the way I describe it, but it was a very beautiful place.

I spent about a week in Oaxaca City and like I said, no luck with the ladies what so ever, then I split and headed to the coast to the town of Puerto Escondido. P.E. is a surfer beach town, and is known as the Mexican pipeline and being one of the best beach breaks in all of Mexico and the world. I don't surf, and when I was there apparently the waves were shit. P.E. has a very unique vibe, the surf scene definitely dominates, but there is also a counter culture, hippy vibe, as well as an outlaw vibe. I was told by this older Mexican hippy artist dude that I befriended that there are a lot of Mexicans from the U.S., white American expats, and expats from other countries that dipped out on the law and found refuge living in Puerto.

There is a pretty heavy underground drug vibe too there, personally I don't fuck with coke, but I was offered it a few times and saw people take bumps at the bar as well. I am a ganja smoker and was able to find some pretty decent buds, Oaxaca is supposed to have some of the best herb in all of Mexico and I can see why, driving from Oaxaca city to Puerto you pass spectacular forested mountains that are dry and perfect growing conditions, similar to the emerald triangle in NorCal. The first bag I got was shwag, but I payed like 8 bucks for a quarter oz. I started chilling with the 20 year old surfer kid I copped from he was mad chill and spoke decent English, I befriended him, so he ended up hooking me up nice on my next two, I got some good outdoor sensimilla bud for like 5 dollars for 1/8th.

Puerto was hot as fucking balls and I was having a hard time dealing with the heat there, I tried to stay out of the mid day sun as it was blazing in the upper 90's every day with high humidity. My favorite thing to do was roll down to Zicatela Beach at sunset, the entire beach is lined with restaurants and bars that have comfy lounge chair set up, for people to lie back order drinks and watch the sunset. I smoke a jay with the surfer kid then roll down, kick back, and drink a fresh squeezed juice, or cocktail. The sunsets were amazing with the sky all full of different colors, shades, or orange, red, and purple.

There are some legitimately fine women in Puerto, most are tourists from Europe, Argentina, Israel, or the U.S. Day game would be a good option as I saw more hot chicks out during the day than at night time, although a lot of the hottest girls were with their boyfriends, which made them pretty inaccessable. For some reason the talent I saw at night couldn't touch the talent during the day. I am really lazy and never do day game back home, so I didn't bother with it while there, plus a lot of day I was just so drained from the heat/sun, or hung over from a late night of drinking.

There is somewhat decent nightlife in P.E., although it works out that there is usually only one bar a night that has popping nightlife, and everyone out to party usually goes to that bar. Towards the weekend the spot seemed to be "Bar Fly" which was on a rooftop and had your classic set up with DJ's, bar, spots to sit on the outer edges, and a dance floor space.

Most of the people in P.E. were traveling in big groups of friends, especially the girls, which made it a bit tougher for me rolling solo dolo without a wingman. It is definitely the kind of place where having a wing or crew will work to your benefit. I went out solid 3 night I was there, but once again wasn't able to manifest any hook ups. I kept falling into this trap where I would open well, hook the girl, and then somewhere during middle game, things would deteriorate. I didn't approach as hard as I could have, probably only doing 3-4 serious approaches during the night.

My best approach was on a Russian girl who was legit in the 8-9 range, her English wasn't so great, but being playful, using good body language, etc. I was able to get her laughing, and flirting. She seemed to be really into me, asking a grip of questions about me etc. In my mind I was like "it's on, I got this!" and I quickly transitioned her to the dancefloor. We were having a great time dancing and were grinding face to face, but every time I tried to kiss her she turned her head and I got cheek. I kissed her neck a few time, and had my hand on her ass, but she wouldn't let me kiss her.

She seemed to have some kind of strange situation as she was traveling with two Russian dudes, but she claimed neither one was her boyfriend and they were only co-workers. Yet she was constantly looking over her shoulder, like she was looking out for them, and one dude came up to us for a min. said something in Russian looked me up and down, and was being hella awkward. Dude didn't seem like a mafioso or bad ass or anything, so I didn't give a fuck and proceeded to do my thing. At a certain point after dancing for like 15 mins or so she claimed she had to go to the bathroom, and when she came back was acting really distant, pulling away, etc. So I said fuck it, I'm not about to stick to this girl like glue, and cut my losses and moved on. In retrospect, I think there may have been some cultural differences, as I'm used to escalating fast with American sluts. I probably should have isolated her to the back seating area, talking a bit more and then tried to go in for the kill.

There were some hot chicks at the bar, but usually around 2 AM it turned into a massive cockfest with 2 to 1 guy to girl ratios, and all the guys there gringo and locals were approaching like mad. It got to be one of those situations where girls egos were getting inflated to crazy levels as the night progressed, and were hit on by a dozen guys. Not to make excuses for myself, but it wasn't the most conducive place to try to run game solo dolo status. I thought I ran pretty good game, despite having nothing to show.

All my approaches opened well and hooked with the exception of 3 American girls who were with some gay dude. It was obvious from their accents and way they talked they were American, I opened with "let me guess you girls are American?". The fucking bitches were like "uh NO!" and turned their back to me. I tried to play it off and save the interaction, by using some humor, and said "oh so you're from Can-a-da, eh?" in a playful way in my best Canadian accent, they again were like "nice try" in a bitchy way, so I basically was like fuck you. They were your quintessential American 6's who thought they were 9's. I also opened well and ran solid game on two Argie girls who were cute and seemed really down, but ended up getting c-blocked by thier large social circle.

The women on the Oaxaca coast are substantially hotter than in the city of Oaxaca. I think it is because they are from a different tribe originally either Mixtec or Mextec, whereas the ones in Oaxaca City are Zapotec. The women in P.E. tended to have really slamming bodies, with huge, round shapely asses similar to Brazilian girls. They didn't have the best faces and they were some butter faces for sure, but overall I thought they were cute and I would have happily fucked the shit out of them. I kind of mentally c-blocked myself, because I don't speak Spanish and virtually none of them speak English, I told myself it wasn't even worth trying to approach.

One thing I will say is that the stereotype that Latin women like blonde hair and blue eyed guys seemed to be true. I saw a few German guys who looked really lame and weren't even that handsome, but got a lot of attention from the local chicks because they were tall and had blue eyes and blonde hair. I am not Mexican, but have more olive skin, brown hair, and brown eyes, so I didn't really get any attention from the local chicks. Also the local chicks seemed to have kind of like a stone face if you know what I mean, like they carry a scowl and have a chip on their shoulder, but maybe I am just imagining this. I bet if you spoke Spanish and were friendly and broke the ice, they would warm up a lot.

The coolest thing I did in P.E. was a boat trip out on the water. The group I went with were all older lame Americans, but we saw a grip of aquatic life. First there was a school of manta rays that where propelling themselves a good 5 plus ft out of the water, flapping their sides like wings. Then we found multiple groups of spotted dolphins who were swimming in big schools. They would swim up right along side the boat and jump up and do flips in the air. I know it sounds cliche, but they are such beautiful animals.

Their lives seem so much fun, and they always seem to be smiling, laughing, and playing. They would jump up 10 plus ft out of the water and would be like racing and competing with thier dolphin friends to see who could do the most flips and go the fasted. I jumped into the water with snorkel and fins and had dolphins swimming on both sides of me and underneath me. It was an amazing experiences, but unfortunately spotted dolphins are a bit more shy so they kept their distance and swam off when they saw me, apparently spinner dolphins are really friendly and curious and will swim up rightalong side of you. On the way back to shore I also saw a grip of large sea turtles that were just kind of chilling and bobbing on the top of the water.

After P.E. I went to Huatulco which is a beach resort area about 2 hours south of Puerto. Huatulco has some beautiful beaches and good snorkel spots, but there is no nightife at that place, and is really boring at night time. I stayed at a nice hotel, but it was full of older American couples. I went out Friday and Saturday nights checked out every bar and the one club in town and they were all completely dead. The only people there were couples and big groups of Mexicans who were seated around tables. There were a grip of cute girls in Huatulco, but most were jail bait in the 16-18 range. There were some hot twenty somethings, but all seemed to be wifed up and have kids. Women hit the wall hard here in their late twenties, because they all pop out a few kids in thier early twenties, and coupled with a poor diet and lack of fitness culture, it seriously catches up with them.

The highlights of Huatulco were snorkeling at this spot called Entegra where I had the reef all to myself, since Mexian aren't big swimmers. The water wasn't too deep there so I could dive down to the reef where there were huge schools of tropical fish and I got to see some really amazing fish up close that were all kinds of bright shades of florescent colors. The other sick thing I did was a jet ski tour where we jet skied out on the open water to a bunch of different bays and chilled at this beautiful non developed beach called La India that was totally empty, and had cristal clear calm water.

Currently I am in San Cristobal de las Casas at a hostel, and while I'm having a good time, once again I am frustrated by my lack of success gaming. I have been focusing on European tourist girls, but they all seem to either be cold, uninterestd, have boyfriends back home they claim to be faithful, or are sexual camels. Once again I will take responsibility for my lack of success and put it on me, but I seriously have been going out with these girls and they aren't hooking up with other dudes, barely drink, and go home from the bar early. The ones who are partying harder seem to just be attention whoring and not hooking up as well. I went hard Thursday night and once again, opened well, but everything fizzled out. I had some Aussie chicks be straight up rude to me and shoot me down, and admitedly it had me questioning my self worth to an extent. I'm like is my game that shit, and I not that attractive, etc. All in all though despite being sexually frustrated I am trying to hold my chin up and say fuck em, I know who I am and I know my self worth.

I could go on and on, but I've basically written a novel here, and without any game successes to write about I should cut this off. One last note I will add is I don't get the hotter Mexican chicks, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the guys they hook up with. It might sound kind of arrogant, but I feel that I am taller, buffer, more stylish and better looking than the vast majority of men in this part of Mexico. I can't even count how many times I have seen a hot chick with a dude that was either mad short, ugly, scrawny as hell, pudgy, old, bald, or dressed like shit. I am like WTF?, how are these guys pulling these chicks? I can only surmise that social circle and maybe social staus play a big roll in how people hook up here, either that or they have different standards for what is attractive. I'm sure in Mexico city and the nothern cities it is different and there is more logic to who these women are hooking up with.

Great report. I have spent a lot of time in Southern Mexico and have always wanted to go to Oaxaca, but have never been there. I know many people from all regions of Latin America, and I would say without a doubt that the people from Oaxaca have the best attitude.

How did you get to Oaxaca City from California? How did you get to Puerto and Huatulco from Oaxaca City?

Were there a lot of girls from Mexico City or from other parts of Mexico in Puerto? It doesn't surprise me that there were a lot of Argentine girls in Puerto. The Argentine college girls are on their summer break this time of year. I always met some in Acapulco in January and February.

Do you plan on visiting Salinas Cruz? It is another spot on the coast of the State of Oaxaca.

Do you also plan on visiting Acapulco? I have spent a great deal of time there and have posted data on that city. If you stick to the right places, safety should not be an issue.

I wouldn't worry too much. Just wait till you reach Playa del Carmen, if you put in the legwork and still dont get laid there, then you should start to review your game.

yeah agreed. you'll have any easier time in Playa and the quality of women is high. Since alot of the girls that come to Playa need to know English to get a job you should be able to approach more freely. When I first got here I had the most luck gaming the girls that worked at the restaurants/cafes/sports bars etc and at that stage my spanish was terrible.

I've been living in MX for 3 years (2 years in playa) so if you need any pointers let me know

Thanks for the feedback. To address some of your questions, I flew directly into Oaxaca City, I got a flight on United that connected in Houston and then flew directly from Houston to Oaxaca on one of those really small planes. I hadn't flown United in some time and I got to say that fucking airline sucks balls, and I will try to avoid it in the future.

My flight in Houston was repeatedly delayed, before being outright canceled and rescheduled for the next morning. The people that work at United were rude and unhelpful, and the planes were super ghetto and old. My one way flight was only $300 though which I thought was pretty good considering Oaxaca is a small airport and not a major hub, it would have for sure been way cheaper had I flown into Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, etc.

I got to Puerto Escondido from Oaxaca City by taking a van that went straight there and had a mix of gringos and locals, stopping periodically to drop off the locals in route. It's about a 7 hour ride through big mountains and winding roads, not ideal for people who get car sick, but it was no problem for me. Aside from the spectacular scenary, I had a good time on the ride because I got smoked out by the driver who was a mad chill dude that played good tunes the entire way.

From Puerto Escondido I took a bus 2 and a half hours to Huatulco, and from Huatulco I bused it to San Cristobal and will continue to bus it until I get to Playa Del Carmen, and then going to fly back home out of Cancun.

When I was in Puerto Escondido I didn't see a lot of girls who were obviously from D.F., although I did see some really hot ones, but they were with thier boyfriends on a couples vacation. The women that I see who are obviously from D.F. and northern Mexico are far, far hotter than the local women in Oaxaca or here in Chiapas, although that is not to say that there are good looking women in southern Mexico at all. For guys who say Mexican women are not hot, I say they are either tripping, never been here, or have a different conception of beauty that revolves around the slim blonde Northern European ideal.

I have no plans of visiting Salinas Cruz or Acapulco, and I'm pretty far from both as I'm in San Cristobal de las Casas and the rest of my itinerary is as follows, Palenque, Campeche, Merida, then finally Playa del Carmen. I hear mixed things about Acapulco, but it's not really on my radar as a place to go, mostly because I have heard and read a lot of bad stuff about cartel violence and crime there. Although I doubt it's very common, I don't want to be one of those outliers that is at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I think I will spend my last week in PDC, but I keep talking to people who say they hated it and that I should go to Tulum or Isla Muejeres. Both those spots sound really dope, but Tulum apparently has no party scene, though there are supposed to be a good number of hot girls there. Isla Muejeres sounds like a good mix between laid back beautiful beaches plus party scene, but I am tired of jumping around so I'll probably just post it in PDC.

I know PDC is supposed to have a good party scene so I will plan on hitting it hard there, and hopefully end my trip with a bang (literally and figuratively). My next few destinations don't seem like they will be very ideal for gaming, so I have no real high hopes or expectations for hooking up, and it looks like PDC may be my best bet.

Obviously I'm one horny mofo and want to get laid, but I didn't come here with the expectations of getting mad pussy. I started this trip thinking that it would be good to at least get one notch, and that's where I'm keeping my mentality, although it's been a rough, trying past few weeks. Even if I strike out completely, I won't feel like this trip was a failure or be down on it. I can honestly say that I've been having a good time and have seen and done some great stuff that I would have never experienced had I stayed at home in my little bubble and continued with my daily routines.

All in all I am liking Mexico, but it just sucks being here not speaking good Spanish. I got the Pimsleurs vol 1 of Latin American Spanish, so I do speak a little, but not enough to hold a conversation or mack on women. I would like to get a good grasp of Spanish and be at a conversational level and come back to a different part of Mexico in a couple years, and hopefully do some damage and have a completely different experience.

Language barriers are a real issue and I am skeptical and wondering how some guys overcome this obstacle and score and certain countries where barely anyone speaks English. The only way I see it really working out is if you are just such a good looking guy that women will want to fuck you without you have a solid conversation and making a real connection. That or if you just get lucky with random drunken dance game with some wasted slut at a bar or club.

One thing that I am really not liking about Mexico which may just sound like a typically western thing to whine about, is the way business and services are run here. We take so much for granted in the U.S. where everything runs smoothly and works so well. For example, just basic shit like, I went to the bank on a Friday afternoon to exchange money in Huatulco. I literally stood in line for 40 mins before I got to the teller, who told me they couldn't exchange my money unless I not only had my passport, but also a photocopy of it.

Now I've traveled all over the world and never been required to give them a photocopy of a passport along with the passport itself. I was already frustrated, but I was out of pesos and needed to change money so I go to my hotel room, get my passport, find a place to make a photocopy, and then head back to the bank. At this point it was 3:15 and the woman at the bank tells me they can't exchange money after 3 pm. I am like WTF! I was pissed as shit and basically started cussing in English, I don't understand why the fuck shit like that happens here, why they can't change money after 3, etc.

Shit like that happens all the time here, you go to a business and the sign says they are supposed to be open, but the business owner just decides for whatever reason to close up shop and take a siesta or whatever. Yesterday I tried to hit the gym as I haven't worked out in a week and have lost way too much muscle on this trip. I walked around for 2 hours went to 3 gyms that were all closed, this is Saturday mind you, not Sunday. Finally I get to a forth gym and two women walk out so I'm like yes, finally there is a gym that is open, but as soon as I go in, the woman says they are closing because it's 3 pm and they close at 3. Again I am like what the fuck, why the hell is everything in this damn country closed on Saturday. I guess it's just me being a spoiled American, but I hate how shit can be so ass backwards in this country.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I will probably send you a pm within a couple weeks. Also if you are in playa and down to meet up that would be awesome, I haven't had a wingman at the bars the entire time I've been on this trip, and personally I am not a big fan of rolling solo dolo.

I noticed this too in Mexico and Peru. I won't do anything about my brown eyes but I am strongly considering dying my hair blonde before my next trip to Latin America. I think I can pull it off because I was born blonde and my hair turned brown around 8 or 9 years old. It would be an interesting experiment where the only thing different the second time will be my hair color.

I'd be careful listening to the people that say isla mujeres and tulum are better than PDC. All 3 are cool spots but If you want easy access to alot of good looking women stick with pdc.

Isla Mujeres does have 1 hostel which is meant to be be a fun place to meet girls if you pick the right time to go there but it can be hit or miss.

I suggest spend the majority of your time in PDC for the party scene and if you want to go exploring with a girl head down to tulum or take a day trip to one of the cenotes between playa and tulum. If you are into ruins a trip to Coba is worth it for a day also.

Trip Report: Oaxaca, Mexico - scotian - 02-25-2013

Great trip report OG, I"m considering a Mexico trip in the future and this sheet definitely helps. Nice to know that there's good quality bud to be found there, that's one of my main complaints about SE, there's no good bud here, I"m jonesin' hard!

I wouldn't sweat the women thing too much as long as you're having a good time doing other things. I had a similar experience in Thailand with the local women, language barrier was a bit of an issue and I just couldn't seem to make a connection with them, so I just said fuck it and focused on doing things that I like to do such as fishing, diving, kayaking, etc.

Can you break down the costs in Mexico, what are you spending in a typical day?

Yeah, Tulum sucks.

I can picture the exact type of idiot that would recommend that place.

Rest assured, it is not some butter smooth cat in a Custom Suit, smoking a cigarette.

Great report. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Campeche and Merida, two places I've been interested in for years.

I'm not well-traveled in Mexico, but I've been to Isla Mujeres a couple of times with work. Cool place (this was 7 or 8 years ago though). There is a downtown area with lots of bars that was happening at the time. Decent scuba diving off the coast there, if you're into that (very strong currents though, so be aware).

I spent three weeks in Mérida earlier this year, and loved it.

As a base, you can get to all the tourist stuff pretty easily, and the town itself is interesting enough to keep you there. Housing was cheap, I rented a two-bedroom pad close to Paseo de Montejo, and had a pool party while I was there.

Hit three homeruns in Mérida and one in Playa, and I'm the opposite of blonde hair, blue eyes.

While living in Guadalajara, I use to get Cheese... Oaxaca cheese from the market.. like 50 pesos for a pound... god it was fantastic. We would just eat an avacado, egg and Oaxaca cheese sandwhich with lettuce, my god it was fantastic!!!

Did you notice any prices of houses while down there? Game doesn't really work on women outside of the USA and you don't really need it either. Women in Mexico are looking for a man to wife them up, not a pump and dump. You just need to turn it around so that when you look at a woman, you are approaching with the 'I want to make you a wife' mentality. They put out pretty quick when they think you are going to stay with them. Remember Mexico is a heavily family oriented culture, if you leave a chick as a single mom in Mexico, her parents will hunt you down and cut your throat. The up side of this is that you can expect to be a part of the family forever and they will treat you extremely well. My first mex-gf, her extended family was so good to me. I was invited to all the weddings, get togethers, everything. I actually still talk to her cousins today almost 8 years later... they were great and we had lots of fun with tequila. The second one was a stuck up b1tch from Puerto Vallarta, her family hated my guts... fresas right (people with money). She ended up being a crazy ass b1tch and cheating on me. The red flags were there, she went to school in UNIVA and her father worshipped the Americans and their flag. He owned a hotel and a jet. I was pretty sure he was going to have me killed if the relationship didn't end... in retrospect I'm glad it did.

When it comes to family, I would NOT want to fvck with a Mexican.
Their family is everything to them.

The chicks that will fvck you without a second thought are the type of women you want to steer clear of anyway. Learning Spanish is EASY dude, its not like Chinese or anything. Its really really easy to hook up with Mexicans once you speak even Basic. I learned and became fluent all while just living down there. No classes or anything. When I wanted to meet girls, I use to walk through the Walmarts and hit on the girls working there.

Mexican girls ARE hot man, goto D.F. if you want to meet some REAL hotties.

When I wanted to meet girls, I use to walk through the Walmarts and hit on the girls working there.

My first night in Mérida I went to Wal-Mart, and got approached like crazy by women.

They asked me where I was from, after assuming I was Cuban, and why I was in Mérida, one woman told me she was surprised, my spanish was better than hers, and another remarked my spanish and accent were beautiful. I also got the usual "you're so tall, how tall are you?" questions (I'm 6'4).

I got in on a Friday, so everyone I talked to, I told them I loved to dance and asked what places to go to. I was told about several places, but the one that was mentioned to me the most was a place called Mambo Cafe.

Mambo resembled Miami's Bongos Cuban Cafe, and it was amazing. There were practically no guys there, and the ones who were there couldn't dance for shit. I went with two Canadian girls who I happened to meet while walking down the street that night. I danced with them, and after that I danced with whoever I wanted, really didn't even have to ask. I noticed Mexican girls have no problems with extended eye contact, I got eyefucked everywhere.

Mérida has a nice-size population of Cubans, and at Mambo they have a Cuban band that performs salsa, merengue, etc. I happened to meet the band while standing outside at the door, and they had an entourage of girls with them, and the lead singer introduced to me all of them. That's how I ended up getting my first two bangs in Mérida, albeit on different nights.

The third came from a Cubana from Havana who was visiting her sister. I met her at a Cuban club (I think it was called Cubachero) on Paseo de Montejo. Since I live in Miami, I learned how to dance it the way real Cubans dance it. We danced two songs, and then walked to my house. After that we had the best sex I've ever had in my life. For the first hour she let me dominate her, after each orgasm, she counted the number. We had sex for several more hours, and she destroyed me, she made sure I was as dry as the Sahara Desert when were done. I probably laid there sucking my thumb for 5 minutes and then passed the fuck out. The next morning, I awoke to the smell of breakfast. She was cooking half-naked, we fucked in the kitchen, and I ate a nice breakfast.

I'm just now recounting some of my adventure here, I think I talked about my time in Playa in another thread, and OG and I have communicated through PM about Mérida since I had read he was planning on passing through.

Sorry about the lag on getting back to you, I'm staying in this spot called El Pechon in the jungle outside of the ruins of Palenque and there is no internet there, so I had to catch a local van into town to use the internet.

Mexico is pretty cheap, but I think it's all relative to your budget, for comparisons sake I'd say that it's between the price you'd pay at the Thai islands (Koh Samui & Phi Phi) and Chaing Mai.

I'm paying about on average $35 a night for a nice private room with bathroom, hot water, and occassionally AC in hotels and hostels. The most expensive place I stayed was in Huatulco at a mid-range "boutique hotel" that according to the owner won best hotel in Mexico on tripadvisor, that place was $55 a night. The cheapest room so far is where I'm at outside Palenque in the jungle, which is about $25 a night.

Obviously everyone has different budgets and styles of travel, one could easily stay in a dorm room for much less, or stay in fancier boutique hotels for much more. I couldn't give you any ideas of how much apartments of houses cost to rent, though I am sure you could negotiate a price by the week or month.

The food here is really good and not too expensive, but I usually eat two really huge meals a day and am a foodie so I go big and never skimp on the costs. Typically I'd say I spend about 6-8 dollars on a big breakfast or lunch, and 10-20 on dinner, including tip. Seafood, Italian food, and anything more exotic like Japnese food or Argentine steakhouse will be more expensive. There is good seafood on the coast and I'd spend closer to the $15 range on that, there is also really great Italian food and pizza pretty much every where I've been.

Typically a cocktail in a bar will run you about $4 and a beer will be around $2, obviously the more upscale and trendy the place is, the more expensive it will be.

Traveling around by bus in Mexico is really easy, and typically a 5 hour bus ride will cost around $20.

The weed here, puts SEA to shame, although it no where close to Cali quality. In Oaxaca I got probably the best quality to quantity ratio on price than almost anywhere I've been in the world, and I've smoke ganja on almost every continent. Here outside Palenque I copped a bag last night that wasn't as good quality, but still good sativa that got me stoned, and it was like $20 for around 10 grams.

Overall I really like Mexico and would recommend it as a travel destination, though it's such a big and diverse country a state like Chiapas will be much different than a place like Jalisco. If you have enough time you can see and do a lot, and if you're interested I can run through some possible itineraries with you.

Peace,

OG

Yeah thanks again for the info through pm, I always appreciate a member taking time out to help out a fellow brother. I am still impressed with your results, which to me are great no matter what country you are in. I know there are some really advanced players on this forum that kill it and rack up big numbers, but a new notch a week is still great by my standards.

Since I've never met you, I won't speculate on your success, but right off the bat I can say that you speaking flawless Spanish and being a great salsa or Latin music dancer are probably two huge factors to your success.

Guys that say Spanish is easy to learn, well it certainly isn't Chinese, but you can't listen to Pimsleur vol. 1 and buy a phrase book and expect to be fluent after a couple months. I know just enough Spanish to get by, taxis, buying stuff in stores, asking for directions, ordering food, but to spit game at women and hold a coversation is a whole other beast.

The women in this part of Mexico really don't speak much English at all, typically my pitiful Spanish is still better than their English, and once I speak a few phrases they think I know Spanish and start talking and saying stuff that goes right over my head and I have no idea what they are saying.

If I spoke fluent Spanish, it would open up so many doors and possibilities, if you don't have male model looks (I don't), conversation and verbal game are going to be your backbone to your success with women IMHO.

Another matter is dancing, Mexican women love to dance salsa and whatever styles of Latin dancing. Being a good dancer will open up so many doors and probably legs too. I can dance to hip-hop, dancehall, and reggaeton, but can't dance salsa to save my life. Before coming to Palenque I was just in San Cristobal and almost every bar or club I went to was playing salsa, which left me out in the cold. I sat back and watched as these Mexican girls were having the time of their lives dancing to it, and you could tell it was getting the panties moist.

Finally, regarding jariels' success, I'm sure being 6 ft 4 in. never hurts. The women in Mexico are probably far less critical about a man's height than American women, this I am sure of... But, people here are typically short and as a tall guy you stand out big time, and it's just a fact of life that women love tall men. In fact the guys who got the most attention that I've seen and met here were all 6 ft. 2 to 4 in. height, but they were also German and had blonde hair and blue eyes as well.

All in all, I'm not trying to take anything away from your success, but I don't think those stats will be typical for your average American guy with the most basic Spanish and no salsa dancing skills. If anything it should be a motivator or reminder for guys who want to travel here to learn Spanish and learn how to dance to Latin music. In the end I tip my hat to you, and thank you again for taking your time to impart some advice. I am still hoping to at least notch my belt once on this trip, although my hopes for a Mexican flag are wavering.

Trip Report: Oaxaca, Mexico - scruffy - 02-27-2013

I've been to Puerto Escondido numerous times with pro surfers. The guys who score the local chicks are usually blonde Australians. It seemed like a lot of the hot girls worked at the clothing stores lining the main street. They see so many tourist guys pass through that they either a) are uninterested or b) get pregnant and dumped by a tourist surfer.
Look for Karla at the bikini store, she was probably the hottest when I was there a few years ago and would bang whichever guy was the best looking surfer in town at the moment. And surprise, she has a son now!
One of the coolest things I did was go to a "party" with a local girl. Turned out to be a birthday party for her little sister. All of the family was there and it was deep in the hills of PE along a ravine. They let us sleep together on the porch, which is super radical for a strict Catholic culture. We kissed and fooled around, but that was the extent of it.
Later in the night I started getting drilled by mosquitoes so I dipped out of the house and tried to find the main road. BIG MISTAKE.
Soon I was dodging all these sketchy characters at 3am in the rain and eventually found a cab back to the house I was staying at. My buddy was passed out from drinking all night so I had to put a piece of cardboard over the Mexican barbed wire (glass shards cemented onto the top of a wall).
No bang.

Next weekend I'm returning to PDC with my boy.

I've never found being tall to be a bad thing, and my height fortunately isn't something that's too crazy.

I also am fortunate that Spanish is my native language so I can comfortably travel through Latin America without a problem. The Mexicanas loved my Dominican accent, but I've encountered other Latinos who can't stand it -- I'm seeing a Tica now who is always like "you talk so Dominican", but no worries, she's still getting on all fours.

But anyway, for anyone traveling to any Latin American country, shit even if you're coming to Miami, I'd learn some basic spanish and take a salsa class.

This is part of the game.

When the Lakers play the Heat, they watch game film first, so they have a chance of winning.

Going to Latin America without some grasp of the language, the culture, and some dancing skills is playing the game at a disadvantage, whether you're tall, Black, white, whatever.

If you are not Latin, the people don't have any expectation that you can dance your ass off to our music or speak our language, but just the fact that you can do it to some degree will be impressive and respected.

I wouldn't get discouraged though. As I stated, two of my bangs came from social circle game. I made friends with a dude and when he introduced me to his girls, he made it sound like we had been lifelong friends, so I was on the inside with the girls, literally.

Mexicans love to party, love to smoke, love to drink, meet some dudes who are down, go out with them, buy them a drink or two, let them know you want to find your little Selena, and get it in.

You could avoid this by getting your money from ATMs, they give the best exchange rate anyway.

The ATMs in Mexico do have a history of eating cards, and the banks have made it policy to not give you your card back, so for future reference, order copies of your cards before your trip -- I did this myself, and fortunately didn't have any problems.

Ugh, you guys are making me want to go back, visions of T&A bouncing around to banda is still fresh in my head.

I didn't hit Mexico City on this trip, but it sounds like it has some of the best nightlife and hottest chicas in all of Mexico. I read your Mexico City report, good stuff, you hooked up with a Brittish girl right? Any luck with the Mexicanas more than a phone number of facebook? Also, I wonder if you speak Spanish and at what level? I need to search the forum for your PDC report, it sounded really promising, but can't remember if you reported scoring there.
