You forgot the murderous equine lady in the Congress, also known as "AOC". She's just crazy enough to go for it.

Predicitons for Democrat candidate in 2020? - Libertas - 11-11-2018

Fun fact - she won't be old enough. The Constitution mandates that you need to be 35.

She'd get crushed anyway. Can you imagine her against Trump? Total massacre. [Image: lol.gif]

Beto, Gillum and Abrams were all for the 2024 bench, and they all got shellacked.

Warren is definitely running. It’s a chance for Clinton 2.0. I believe she is the unspoken front runner.

Not gonna lie, she would be an extremely enticing hate-WB.

Warren is done after the blood test gaffe.

She's a fraud. The right already hated her, but many on the left now feel the same way as she appropriated the identity of a Native American for her personal gain.

Do Americans still believe in the 2 parties and elections? Does it matter who wins? Arent they both serving the same elite?

Predicitons for Democrat candidate in 2020? - MaceTyrell - 11-11-2018

As someone with plenty of left leaning friends - none of them care about that.

You have to remember us Dems are the party that just elected Keith Ellison (another Bernie Sanders protege) for AG, despite having a credible assault case.

Corey Booker, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and Bernie Sanders along with HRC seem to be the front runners.

It's going to be Kamala Harris.

She's a semi-deep state plant as part of a hedging strategy for Gillibrand becoming President.

1. Gillibrand just won re-election, so she has a job till 2024. Therefore, she could run in 2020 and if she loses, she can be a voice against Trump for his second term (if he wins again)
2. But if Gilibrand won in 2020, there is an open Senate seat that, oh, AOC will be 30 by that point - she could either be appointed for that Senate seat (the same way Gillibrand was appointed when HRC got the Sec of State nomination), or run in a "special election" in which she would lock it up.

Remember the Republican who unseated Eric Cantor? Cause I can't. Dems are building the bench.

‘None of the above’ tops list of potential 2020 Dems, poll shows

With the 2018 midterms in the rearview mirror, several Democrats are gearing up for the 2020 presidential contest. But so far, no Democrat has attracted broad support from the party's base, according to a new Hill.TV American Barometer poll.

The survey, conducted among 680 registered voters who identified themselves as Democrats or independents, found that "none of the above" was the most popular choice among potential 2020 challengers to President Trump.

Thirty percent of the sample said they would prefer that "none of the above" become the Democratic nominee when asked to choose among former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D), Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I), New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker (D), California Sen. Kamala Harris (D), former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Twenty-five percent of respondents said Biden would be their preferred nominee. Sanders, who ran in the Democratic presidential primary in 2016, came in second with 18 percent.

Twelve percent of the independents and Democrats surveyed picked Clinton, Sanders's one-time presidential rival, who signaled a willingness to run again, saying in an October interviewer that she would still "like to be president."

Other candidates attracted even less support. Harris, Bloomberg and Warren were each the top choice for just 4 percent of respondents.

Warren had been regarded by some progressive advocates as a strong candidate, but she may have lost some support after provoking controversy by releasing a DNA test to address persistent questions about her claims of Native American heritage. A Morning Consult/Politico poll from October found that just 34 percent of Democratic respondents believed Warren's actions were "appropriate."

The American Barometer survey was conducted on Nov. 5-6 among 680 registered voters by the HarrisX polling company. The sampling margin of error is 3.76 percentage points.

It's going to be Kamala Harris, she ticks all the boxes. She'll still have to earn it by winning a primary with all the other contenders - Biden, Sanders, Warren (nope), Clinton (no way they are running this billion dollar loser again).

Probably more important than who is running is what platform they are running. Dems need a 2020 version of "hope and change", otherwise they are just running straight identity politics again and Trump will crush them with his rhetoric.

Predicitons for Democrat candidate in 2020? - Foolsgo1d - 11-11-2018

Im still convinced it is the next election after Trump they will have their best candidate. The better question people should be asking is; Who on the Republican side is going to follow Trump? Are we going to get Cruz or someone else?

Rubio would seem like he has the best chance to win after Trump based on his moderate appeal and that he can attract more hispanics.

If it is Rubio then we have lost.

Predicitons for Democrat candidate in 2020? - scorpion - 11-11-2018

I will tell you right now that the Democratic primary in 2020 will be the most entertaining political shitshow of all time. These people are going to tear each other to pieces. The very fact that there is no strong frontrunner means that it's completely up for grabs. It will be the total opposite of the Dem primary for 2016 where it was basically Hillary's coronation. I fully expect delusional scumbag porn lawyer Michael Avenatti to throw his hat in the ring. He will do his tough-talking shtick and go after the other candidates, and before long the floodgates will open and they will all be going at each other lock, stock and barrel. A total bloodbath will ensue as the various factions and identity groups with the party all savage each other's preferred candidate. Whoever does manage to emerge victorious will be severely weakened and the base will be completely demoralized and have very little emotional energy left for the general election. Meanwhile, Trump will be doing his gimmick the entire time, throwing barbs and jabs at the Dem candidates and hosting huge rallies.

As for predictions on who the eventual nominee will end up being, I think it's far too early to say. In a crowded field with no frontrunner, anything can happen. Scandals and media self-immolations will occur. Gaffes and political hit jobs will for sure take out some candidates. I will say this, though: there is a very real possibility that Hillary will actually run again. And if she does, regardless if she wins or loses the nomination, she will drive a stake through the heart of the Democratic party.

I would have said Cruz was the heir apparent before, but his performance in Texas suggests otherwise. He won his first race by 16%. Now he won by 2. I think his war with Trump did irreparable damage to his brand. He should have bowed out after Super Tuesday. He could have saved himself. But he stayed.

Rubio's time has probably passed as well.

Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans do have a number of rising stars. It's way too soon to tell. Shame John James didn't win. He would have been my favorite of the current crop. Here's hoping he runs again in two years and can ride Trump's coattails to victory.

Edit: Scorpion, there's no way Hillary runs again. The Clintons have basically become persona non grata in the party, especially in this age of full-blown sexual hysteria. If she runs, she'll have no support this time.

You underestimate the Clintons' grip on the party machinery. Remember, they literally conspired to rig the primary against Bernie. And got caught red-handed doing so. And what happened? Absolutely nothing. The party basically just shrugged its shoulders and pretended it never happened. The Clintons still basically control the DNC, and with no clear frontrunner Hillary may feel it's worth another shot. Remember who we're talking about here: Hillary Clinton, a woman who feels entitled to the Presidency, and who feels personally wronged by Trump's longshot victory. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and she certainly feels scorned. That's why it's not at all unlikely that she decides to throw her hat in the ring. That being said, I agree that there is a large faction of the party that will absolutely flip their wigs if she runs again. It would trigger something of a Democratic civil war between the Bernie/progressive faction of the party and the DNC/Clinton loyalists/Dem establishment. That's why I said if she runs again she will drive a stake through the heart of the party. And a lot of people on the left understand that. But Hillary doesn't give a shit, she will gladly destroy the party if she thinks there's even an off chance she could become President before she croaks.

Even some of the DNC/loyalists will turn against her. Bloomberg could write a blanche cheque for whatever non-HRC candidate he wants - the fact that the majority of the money he poured into the midterms went to ACTUAL CANDIDATES as opposed to what Tom Steyer poured money into shows Bloomberg ain't ready to let HRC run ramshod all over the DNC again.

HRC is a toxic asset amongst the more corporate Democrat types. I myself may actually abstain from voting if she actually becomes the nominee again.

What were the differences between Bloomberg's spending and Steyer's?
