The latest interview is the one I'm most proud of because it has information that you're not going to here anywhere else.

http://dangerandplay.com/2014/04/01/body...h-gay-pay/

Everything from green juicing to "juicing" other things to gay for pay.

I just did a podcast on state. It's going to go out to newsletter subscribers as a thank you to them.

MikeCF,

I was really enjoying the biochemistry talk when you were talking about supplements, diet, etc. Do you have any recommended sources to learn some of these basics? I heard you subscribe to the Life Extension Foundation and have seen their newsletters in the past. Any recommended resources/books to expand on the basics of the biochemistry?

Oh man, that is a tough question. SO much of this stuff I learned years ago.

Nutrition books are junk.

"Nutrient Timing" is good. I don't agree with all of the conclusions, but it discusses the role insulin plays in physique development.

http://www.amazon.com/Nutrient-Timing-Fu...1591201411

Basically...If you understand insulin and it's role in fat loss and muscle gain, you understand the big picture biochemistry of nutrition.

Maybe that's a whole separate podcast? If so, ask your specific questions and I'll see what we can come up with.

I'm taking a short vacation with my co-host so we can record some this weekend.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - Drazen - 04-02-2014

I don't have any specific questions, just kind of want to learn more about how everything is interconnected. Its pretty fascinating. I think Tim Ferris' book had a bunch of science stuff in it, so I was thinking of reading that (4 hour body).

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - DVY - 04-02-2014

@Drazen- Read up on physiology. I liked this textbook....http://www.amazon.com/Guyton-Hall-Textbook-Medical-Physiology/dp/1416045740

Physiology basically is about homeostasis (how bodies operate towards equilibrium). Covers everything from muscle contraction, blood brain barrier (key in drugs and nutrients), to nutrient defiiciencies etc etc.

Biochemistry is boring and dry. Lots of mumble-jumble and complicated long-chain molecules. Id skip it tbh.

Pharmacology, especially the recreational drug section was interesting for me, because you get to see WHY drugs are addictive as they are. Learn a little bit of how drugs are metabolized and what receptors they correspond too. Covers a lot of base knowledge regarding receptor sensitivity.

So to recap, read up on physiology and pharmacology first. This will give you a solid breadth of knowledge especially for the human body..

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - Drazen - 04-02-2014

I was a biochemistry major lol. Its been several years and I wanted to see more practical aspects as it ties into nutrition and how I can better myself via what I put in my body. Loved taking a pharmacology class.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-02-2014

^ Yeah, I took the college courses. Not much use.

It's all about application, or what haters say, "bro science."

The State Control podcast will drop on Monday morning.

Really great podcast, Mike. I especially enjoyed the one with Markus Reinhardt, and have been working some HIT principles into my routine.

The lower sound quality on this most recent one was kind of a buzzkill though. Sounded like you and Jay were on speakerphone half the time, and definitely detracted from being able to enjoy the content. Not sure what tech/software you are using to facilitate your recording and conference calls, but I think there is room for improvement there. Also, maybe it's just something on my end, but it seems like the volume on the podcasts is generally very low. I have to jack up my speaker volume to hear them. Not sure if that's an issue with the volume you upload the recordings at or what.

Anyway, those are just a couple minor bits of constructive criticism. Those technical issues are the only things that have bothered me. The content has been great so far. Keep it up.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-02-2014

^ Yep, it annoyed me too brother.

I'm a one-man shop who is learning as I go. I've always been a writer/thinker and never a tech or gadget person. This stuff is all new to me.

That's not an excuse. The sound quality sucks and that pisses me off.

But I can either wait until the sound quality is perfect and then drop the podcasts, or drop the podcasts and improve as I go.

I choose the latter approach. Take action and improve, learn as I go.

Otherwise I'd be sitting around agonizing over everything and not getting shit done.

Thanks for the feedback. Criticism is good and helps me improve.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-02-2014

A forum member was kind enough to fix the audio for me. The podcast sounds much better now.

So, thanks to the forum member!

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-05-2014

Hey guys, I would appreciate your advice / input / criticism.

I am in the process of getting all of the podcasts transcribed.

Thinking about converting them into eBooks.

Charge $2.99 or something.

Any interest in this?

(If not, let me know. Brutal honesty. I don't want to spend too much time on this if it's a dud of an idea.)

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-05-2014

By the way, thanks for the constructive criticism.

I paid an audio guy to fix all of the podcasts in response to your comments.

I'm going to reup the podcasts when back at a computer and keep the man on retainer for future ones.

I am not someone who thinks all criticism is "hate." Sometimes it is but you guys are not like that.

So I value your feedback immensely and am grateful for it.

Yup, defo Mike I'd be interested.

There's lots of killer information (eg High intensity podcast) that's hard to reference from a podcast, but easy to pull from a book when needed.

Truly cutting edge style by the way Mike. Kudos man, keep it up.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-05-2014

Thanks davy. That was my thinkng....some of the podcasts are really dense. When I listen to them to edit them I get tired and I already knew what was covered.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - samsamsam - 04-05-2014

MikeCF,

Not sure if you have started the transcribing. And I am not sure how feasible my suggestion would be.

But what if you presold the specific ebooks. Or maybe even sold credits for downloads with no specific titles attached. Maybe each pre-sale is $2.50 vs the $2.99 if people don't get in on the pre-sale. The way I read your post, you are going to make each podcast an ebook, correct?

It would let you gauge interest and not have to float the cash, though I am not sure how much it costs to transcribe, maybe it is super cheap and you don't care about when you get paid.

Just a thought.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - MikeCF - 04-06-2014

^ Thanks for the feedback. I decided to just give one away to everyone who subscribes to the newsletter.

Not sure what I'll do with the rest.

Great. You'll get the exclusive podcast as well as a transcript. The transcript was re-written to sound more like an article. So it's a good package.

Just found out about this. Just wanted to say that I am really (I mean really) enjoying your blog. I like the witty titles for most of the posts. I haven't tested out the podcast. I enjoy how you illustrate/explain things I.E. what it feels like to get knocked out.

Edit: Game recognized, I went through most of the archive.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - Screwston - 04-09-2014

Edit - just signed up for your newsletter. I need to go through the whole site one day. Ever thought of making a "greatest hits" book from the archives like Roosh?

I'll do a separate book.

But the book has to be amazing. As in mind-blowingly good.

It has to be the kind of book that, if I found it, I would be blown away and think, "Holy shit! This has totally changed my life."

That's the standard and until I can meet it, the book will remain in progress.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - CaP7 - 04-25-2014

MikeCF, the last podcast I listened to, "How to gain 10lbs of muscle without bulking", was pretty awesome.

The point about not bulking at 16% bodyfat happened to me. I ate and lifted as heavy as I could last year until I was 21% bf, then got down to about 15% currently. The "window" to gain muscle, due to partitioning, after 10% bodyfat was something I had never heard before. (I've bought a couple of Lyle McDonald's programs and a few other diet books in prepping for summer).

The points you go through on the podcast are important, but sometimes they happen pretty fast. If you put the podcast in article form, I would suggest that you market as "expanded points" or something like that. I'd buy that product. It's hard to stay interesting via voice and go as deep as you probably want to on these subjects.

Mikecf/dangerandplay podcast - All or Nothing - 07-23-2014

Mike, I was Empire Rise. I was going to respond to you, but you already blocked me. Here is what I was going to post:

Quote:Quote:

"I even used to have a link by the sidebar per reader requests."

I remember seeing this and then you removed it and started putting the links into your blog posts.

If I remember correctly, you started reading books and watching videos created by internet marketers. Ex: http://www.dangerandplay.com/2014/07/04/...-campaign/

Then you removed the amazon affiliate link on the sidebar where it was made ABUNDANTLY clear that if the person clicked through there that they would be supporting you financially.

Then you started throwing in Amazon affiliate links into blog posts without making it very clear that that was what those links are.

This: "That doesn’t tell the whole picture. I used to use the same Amazon affiliate ID for Fit Juice as for Danger & Play. Thus a lot of sales that belonged to Fit Juice were accounted for under D&P." is not the same as saying "The amazon links I put into Danger & Play posts are affiliate links and if you buy what is advertised, I make a profit." which as far as I know has not been stated.

You even went back to older posts and retroactively added Amazon affiliate links!

You went from being completely transparent (which I liked) to the exact fucking opposite of transparent.

Only people like me who have been reading you consistently for a long time know this.

I am a quiet guy, I do not post anywhere very often, and I only spoke up because I wanted you to know how I felt.

Let me just explain this to you through my eyes. Every time I see an Amazon link in one of your posts, knowing the back story, it makes me feel like you are trying to trick me into giving you money. Seeing those links over an over again has created a building level of resentment. Especially when I cannot easily find or remember a blog post where you have directly stated that the amazon links are not just amazon links, but are in fact affiliate links that you are using to make your blog profitable.

This is not hating, it is honest criticism because I like you and your blog and I wanted to let you know that you were doing something that could drive people away. If you do not like what I have to say, you are free to block me and have an echo chamber where all you get is support.

One last thing:

I have posted here before under the name "All or Nothing": http://www.dangerandplay.com/2014/02/19/...1292463446

I have also complemented you and your blog several times on the forum under the name "All or Nothing": http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-33432-...#pid692369

Have fun with your echo chamber. I am done with your blog and internet marketing bullshit.
