What about the sigma male? I would think that most rooshers would tend to identify more with the sigma than the alpha. What the hell is omega?

Whats a sigma? This greek letter shit is confusing me. I'd only ever heard of Alpha/Beta before I joined RVF.

A sigma is basically an alpha male minus the leadership of men. Basically Clint Eastwood in almost all of his movies.

Soup authored a classic thread regarding teh Sigma...

What the guy is basically saying is the ones he considers Alpha's are men who are good at being good men and being good at being a man. It's all subjective really, there should be no involvement of females in establishing a male hierachy, it's determined by the respect of men. You can be the alpha in your social circle but not running a country, does that mean you're not Alpha? Society has gone long past tribes and bunches of civilisation, globalisation has effectively meant there are lots of little groups who function together in nations.

A comparison is an army which is divided into many units, cohorts etc. There's a leader in all of those small groups, are they not alphas?
