Anyone been recently?

If you have, break it down. Which is better? (Girls, nightlife, beauty etc)

Thanks.

St, Maarten VS Saint Lucia

I was in St. Maarten last week. It was a disappointment. I stayed at the Hotel Marquis, which was awful. The island caters to the Florida cruise market, and is therefor flooded with insurance salesman and their families from Naperville. The ships give vouchers for local restaurants to their passengers. The five spots I went to were overly processed and low quality. All nightlife seems to center around the casinos, which were also incredibly low class. The island is just too small for the volume of people the ships bring in.

And I missed cigarette week.

Aloha!

Great report.

Sounds like the place sucks.

Any redeeming qualities?

No.

The only girl I saw that was worth a crap was working in a little jewelery store. I started to chat her up (maybe Estonian?) and realized the store was owned by her and her husband. He was right there behind the counter.

The budget travelers were everywhere. The island was just too crowded.

Your welcome,

If St. Barth is on your radar, let me know... I'd imagine you've already locked it down.

I was in St. Lucia for a stop-over on a Cruise...beautiful little island with a great landscape and scenery. Much different from the arrid-dry and flat carribean islands in the area and I enjoyed it alot. If you go you must stay here http://www.ladera.com/ the type of vibe from this island was more on some romantic ish didnt see any good local talent but alot of tourist chicks hot Euro chicks getting their vacay on. Beautiful beaches, nice people. Check out http://www.stluciajazz.org/ great festival and all the island people come out for it.
