Thanks for the great info guys, thats what this forum is all about! So I"m settled into my friend's mom's place, gonna stay here for a couple of days until my friend leaves on Saturday.

I'm glad I came here and met up with her because she's gonna put me in contact with some of her old friends, one of her guy friends is super stoked to see me and wants to take me out partying all weekend with him and his friends and show me all the sites, they were joking and saying I should have a novia by Monday! We're gonna meet him for lunch tomorrow and then go check out this Spanish school I may register in, have an intensive course of 4 hours per day with 10 hours cultural activities per week, Nueva Lenguas the name, they seem decent!

Didn't do much today but we walked around her barrio for an hour and then got some grub at a resto and visited her mom's friends house, can't get over how outgoing and friendly the folks are here! haha, sorry to disappoint but I haven't fucked any women yet, I'll blame it on bad logistics for now. I"m staying at my friend's place with her mom and they're taking me around showing me some different places. I'm so glad I have them because they helped me find a good Spanish school and got me a cell phone, my friends also introduced me to her friends, hopefully we'll go out this weekend to check out some bars. The only shitty thing is that they don't want to leave me alone and are making me a bit paranoid with all their safety advice: Don't put all your cash in one pocket, don't count your money at the ATM, watch for pickpockets on Transmileno. After I paid for my Spanish courses, they told me, "you know, I think you picked a good school, its in a really nice, good area" then later they say "just don't walk around alone at night, you could get robbed!" and I thought it was a good barrio???

They also pointed out this area near the airport called "The Bermuda Triangle" its full of love motels, they said thats where cars go to "disappear" LOL.

I"m still getting my bearings and getting used to the city, culture, language, etc. My Spanish sucks, hence the language courses, I'll keep you guys posted!

Oh ya, you guys know any good sites for short term rentals? I tried airbnb and viaggio.com.co but haven't found anything that suits me yet.
