Hypnosis & NLP Guide

Hypnosis & NLP Guide

I've been studying hypnosis for several years. It's one of my favorite hobbies and I often do private sessions for friends and family. Since there's an overlap between seduction and hypnosis/nlp, I figured some of you would appreciate this.

----------------------

Before you dive into the material, you should keep the following in mind:

1. Set an outcome. Your success in any field is directly dependent on how well you set and pursue a goal. Are you looking for more confidence with women? Do you want to become a clinical hypnotist? Whatever it is, make sure your goal is clear.

2. Always think critically. Just because a guru says something doesn't mean it's right. Conversely, don't disregard any method or teacher simply because you don't understand them or because you heard bad things.

3. As an extension of #2: study as many disciplines as possible. If you want to become a clinical hypnotist, you should understand NLP/Ericksonian hypnosis as well as the more traditional methods & inductions. Apply Bruce Lee's philosophy of Jeet Kun Do -- never limit yourself; take what works and disregard what doesn't.

4. Listen carefully.

5. Practice. This is obvious -- you cannot progress unless you practice. Don't sit around and watch the videos/read the books. If you're serious about this stuff, you'll go out and do it. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time.

Change Your Life

The Sphinx of Imagination by Hypnotica

The first thing you should listen to. This is a powerful hypnosis track that will help you make some key shifts in your inner game. It's $20 and totally worth it.

If you're interested in becoming a hypnotist, listen to this again and dissect it.

Personal Ecology for Men by Major Mark Cunningham

Like Hypnotica, everything Major Mark produces is high quality. Personal Ecology for Men is probably my favorite tape and I've used it several times.

Become a Hypnotist

Mark Cunningham

I've watched most of Mark's lectures for hypnotists. He covers basically everything you need to know in beginning and advanced levels. If you need a place to start as an up-and-coming hypnotist, start here.

Gerald Klein

Gerald Klein's Basic to Advance course is great for beginners and is a solid supplement to Mark's lectures.

Ross Jeffires / Speed Seduction

Whether you like him or hate him, Ross Jeffries is generally credited as being the founder of speed seduction and (to some extent) the entire pickup community. His SS 3.0 course is pretty solid and has some nice insight into combining hypnosis with game.

NLP, Persuasion and Storytelling

Hypnotic Techniques of Milton Erickson

Milton Erickson changed the world of hypnosis forever. He was incredibly influential in the development of NLP and realized that you can influence people just by talking to them. This book is a great introduction to Ericksonian hypnosis.

Frogs Into Princes

Using Your Brain for a Change

Magic Action

All of Richard Bandler's work is excellent. His book "Frogs Into Princes" is probably the most essential text on NLP and will give you a nice overview as you delve into the work. All three of these are great, though. Also look into some of his courses and tapes.

101 Healing Stories

Stories for the Third Ear

These two books are wonderful resources on Ericksonian hypnosis and applying metaphors/storytelling to your technique.

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion

This book is geared more towards business and advertising, but most of the principles either come from or apply directly to hypnosis/nlp.

I hope this post inspires some of you guys to pursue hypnosis, even just as a hobby. If anyone has any questions or wants to learn more -- feel free to post here or shoot me a PM.

This is a good list that covers the territory of hypnosis nicely.

Although, I don't really practice hypnosis as such , I'm a master NLP practitioner and unconsciously use it in everyday life.

Mark Cunningham is one of the best around and has worked with the US military as well as Ross Jeffries. His products are expensive, though.

As for Richard Bandler, he's fantastic. Great and dark sense of humour.

Cheers.

NLP principles are required for any form of persuasion, including writing. Even non-verbal communication relies on associations and setting the frame.

Most of us probably practice NLP without even knowing what NLP is. And when you do know, and automatically use the principles that you first consciously learned, then your powers of persuasion and mood control over others increase.

If you study any art, you'll likely learn NLP. If you take a poetry writing class, you'll learn that the meaning of a word is context dependent. Sounds simple, but in practice it means that the contexts that you use create what people believe their own words to mean. Associations change perceptions. So a good poet works with context and associations. NLP is all about setting up the context, then setting up the associations, so that the words have a new meaning. So that when you say sex, it means to her "a pleasurable feeling I'll have with this guy soon".

I find that a useful frame for persuasion and general handling of a persons attitude and mood is not so much verbal razzle dazle, but more generally guiding the persons attention. Yes, you still have to build up associations, but it can be simple.

Such as when you return home with your date, you say "Now we're back at our happy place!"

You associate the place with happiness, and with an us. But mostly what you are doing is imposing a mood. Putting an image into her head. An image that threads out to weave into other parts of her experience.

Managing a womans mood is a continual dance of images and associations. You can make her associate you with security, sexuality, humor, lust, love. You can anchor all her positive emotions to your shared space, and to you. You can own her.

Simply by subtly directing her attention, the images in her mind, and her associations.

And much of this can be done nonverbally. What is sex other than associating pleasure with you? Done well, you'll get intense intimacy and a deeply personal connection, that will travel down to her core, such that she'll ache for you when grocery shopping. You really can puppet a person to feel that without you all those feelings of happiness would disappear. Because now they associate them all with you.

You can definitely do some manipulative things with language alone.

I used to do some crazy mindfucking stuff with girls I was seeing in high school to practice NLP/hypnosis. I had one pattern that took intense feelings of pain and pleasure and then anchored them to gestures or actions. Kind of twisted stuff, but useful.

Spill.

I used to practice hypnosis on my classmates in the 8th grade. A few were quite suggestible.

Thanks for assembling this list. I'm not quite ready to spend 300 on a hypnosis product yet, are there any free alternatives out there?

It's actually pretty simple. There are tons of different ways to do it. Here's a more direct way via visualization:

1) Ask the girl to remember a certain powerful emotion (can be pain or pleasure, whatever)

2) Tell her to close her eyes and feel what it felt like, ask her what color she associates with it, where in her body does she feel it? You can do some extra nlp stuff here to get her into a deeper trance if you want.

3) Associate that color/feeling with yourself. You can tell her to visualize you with an aura of whatever color or just describe yourself taking the feeling into your hands and explain that with every touch, she'll feel that emotion again.

I used to do that after sex, while giving the girl a massage or something. It's easy if she's already relaxed and kinda zoned out.

You can also do the same thing through storytelling and by using anchors at the points in the story that evoke emotion.

That's awesome. How long does it take to master those techniques assuming you are into this stuff and practice consistently. Also, does this work on psychologists and hypnotist who are aware of those things?

Hypnosis & NLP Guide

I don't have the time to read all comments right now (I'll do it tomorrow), but I want to ask a quick question. I've been having hypnotic sessions with a professional hypnotherapist for several months now (to cure myself from OCD and social anxiety mostly).

Now, I don't complain that I still have both problems, still both require fundamentally changing my life to get rid of completely, and that takes time.

However, I've started to seriously doubt if hypnosis is real at all, at the very least in the case of this particular hypnotherapist (who, btw, is supposedly the best in my country). Reasons: none of the 'tests' she does on me, like my arm getting heavier, forgetting numbers, etc. ever work. We've done memory regression several times, and having asked family members to see if they were accurate, it appears that there were numerous differences between what I saw in hypnosis and what actually happened.

In general, I don't tend to feel anything 'special' when I am in hypnosis. I don't feel like I am in some deep, altered state of consciousness or whatever. The feeling is no different from when I normally close my eyes and listen to someone talk. Is this how it should be?

Advice appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Hypnosis is just a relaxed state of trance where you're open to suggestion. If you've ever daydreamed, you've been in a state of hypnosis.

As for the effectiveness in medicine...

There have been scientific studies proving that hypnosis has an effect. Here are a couple articles:

You can go into a trance and not realize it. It really depends on how deep of a trance you're in. Also, keep in mind you don't need to be in a deep trance to experience change. Your unconscious mind can pick up suggestions from simple storytelling.

I don't think the problem is hypnosis itself, but rather who you're working with. Maybe try another clinical hypnotist or even try working on the problems yourself. I'd suggest trying NLP and maybe even tapping. PM me if you want more info on either.
