Budget Vegas data sheet

I've been posting for about a month and haven't really had much to contribute as I am new to the game and the places I have been to are well documented. (NY, MTL etc) Browsing through a couple Vegas threads I have noticed a lack of advice for the budget, or non-baller, traveller and since I had a blast on a college budget a couple years ago I thought I would share.

Note: The trip was 3 years ago and a lot of alcohol has been consumed since then so details like venue names may be wrong or non-existent. It doesn't really matter though as the venues are interchangeable.

Overall experience: I went to Vegas from Toronto with 3 friends and spent a little over $1000 in 3 days/nights (flight included). Overall I had an incredible time and one of the most memorable trips of my life. First night we arrived late and just took in the strip. Second night I banged a British chick who just finished working a summer camp in upstate NY. Third night I banged a chick from NorCal, and my 2 single friends did the same. The four of us never once stepped into a club or peelers (strip club)although the plan was to do both.

Logistics: Staying on the strip IMO is key, it makes logistics a lot easier. We stayed at the Planet Hollywood which is in a perfect location (more on that later). Planet Hollywood is not known as one of the top hotel, but it has a great, new casino. Other hotels to consider could be; Paris, Harrah's or Flamingo, although I can't recommend any of them as I never went inside. Now an important aspect of our success came down to a room upgrade that we got when we arrived bumping us up into one of the hotels suites. The upgrade was obtained by using the sandwich trick which is simply slipping a $20 in between your credit card and license and asking the attendant at check in if any upgrades are available. This has worked for us in two different cities and is apparently widely accepted in Vegas. Just be persistent and keeping asking nicely and if rooms are available you will get upgraded. (Note: we arrived at around 10:00pm friday and I can only assume that the fact that we arrived so late helped with availability.

Gaming: Any of the outdoor bars are ideal for quick pick ups, we walked into the courtyard at Caesars with the intentions of finding a group of girls to help us get into the club. Within 10 minutes of talking to a group of British girls in the courtyard we were heading towards the club and after 5 minutes of waiting in line they convinced us just to head back and party at our hotel! The third night was the same, we went to the same location because it was good luck (although any outdoor bar would have worked) and within 10 minutes of talking to a group, we had 5 girls from Cali heading back to our hotel. A great trick we used was telling the girls we wanted to see the bellagio fountain at night and after taking pictures and watching the show we turned around an pointed to a couple windows at the top of the PH hotel telling the girls that was our room (it turns out we were pointing to a room about 20 floors above ours but nobody noticed).

Obviously working the fact that we were staying in a suite into the conversation helped, but I strongly believe that any amount of game would have gotten them back to a shitty one room setup if that is what we had.

Having a stocked bar at your hotel is important too, the price of letting girls drink your bottles for free is far less than you would pay for your own drinks at clubs.

Other venues Like I said, the best plan was just to wander around the outside bars but there was a couple of venues that stuck out to us. O'Shea's casino is a college bar to the fullest; cheap irish car bombs, beer pong, cheap casino table and fast food restaurants in house. Definitely a young party scene if you are into that. Another place that was fun was an outdoor club towards the Wynn end of the strip, I can't remember the name but it was a more relaxed atmosphere than the packed mega clubs.

Clubs and strip clubs Again I didn't go to any clubs while I was there although we had plans to do both (It's hard to leave a group of girls in your hotel room to go the the peelers). If you want to get into the clubs, try getting VIP passes on the street during the day. I have no idea if they work, but if you can get them for free I guess it worth the try. As for strip clubs, you will find guys outside of your hotel offering rides the the major strip clubs. These guys are gold, they will get you limo rides to the club with free entry. You might have to negotiate a bit but they guy we were talking to was willing to offer a limo to the club, but we decided to pass for the above reasons.

Day game: Early day game is not really necessary. Pool game is an option although the only pool we went to (at PH) was below average and not recommended. Day game sort of blends in with night game in vegas in the afternoon. By 6 or 7pm everyone is walking around the streets drinking so street approaches are really the same as bar approaches. This leads to what I would call pregame game, which I think would be the best plan. Approaching girls pregaming on the strip anytime between 8 and 12pm is great because they are on their way towards being drunk, but not stuck in a venue yet. You could very easily go with them where ever they are going or convince them to go somewhere else. This is exactly how we got both of our pickups.

Other notes: I think everyone has heard by now that you get free drinks if you are gambling, use this to your advantage because buying alcohol by the bottle is very expensive on the strip. Sitting at the penny slots for a couple hours is a great way to predrink.

Don't be afraid to exaggerate your personal story, my friends told the Cali girls that I played hockey and I guess the fact that I was Canadian (we all play hockey don't we) and well built they assumed I was in the NHL. Everyone goes to vegas for a sort of fantasy, so you can be as creative as you want to be about your back story.

As for quality, both girls that I was with were 7's I would say, the second girl maybe a bit better. Considering they were both first approaches I can't comment on the success rate of hotter girls, but other than the top tier club stars (that most vacationers not named G couldn't get in any city anyway) quality could be very good.

Any promotion at your hotel can be negotiated, when we booked there was a promotion where you get one free 750ml bottle per night. While talking to the front desk, they gave us an extra couple bottle coupons without even asking. Ended up getting 5 free bottles and at ~$40 a bottle I did not complain. Be nice to the employees especially the ones working at check in, you'd be amazed at what they can offer.

I don't see any reason why this would not work solo, if you have the confidence to bar game solo in the first place this should really work just well for you.

Thanks for this article. It is useful

Lol, this article paints too Rosie of a picture of Vegas and sounds like it's from a guy who had one good night in Vegas and all of a sudden thinks that every trip to Vegas is gonna be just as good [Image: undecided.gif].

I've been there half a dozen of times including top notch hotels at MGM Grand and Bellagio (never Planet Hollywood though) and never was able to get "groups of girls" from the pool to our suite. I think canucktraveller either has very tight game or low standards. Every 8+ chick we approached was friendly but we could only get them to chill at a local club and make out, getting them back never worked and this is coming from me and my friends who are a diverse group with ok game and all in good shape with $$$ to waste.

Perhaps our location was too upscale as we stay at 5star resorts on the strip so maybe "downsizing" to PH or Hard Rorck Hotel would work better for future visits...Any thoughts?

The strip clubs pay these drivers, and regular cabbies for bringing customers to their clubs. One scam cabbies run is when they pick up outside strip joints when you want to go back to your hotel, they stop at ANOTHER spot, claiming to have to use the men's room. Naturally, a chick comes out and asks if you want to wait inside, etc. etc. to try and get you to take a "massage" or something like that.

All of the big hotels have their own nightclubs/dance clubs on premises, and as you know, having chicks with you is key. Little parties in the room/suite are ALWAYS better though. I've never done the day/swimming pool thing, because I'm usually just getting back to the hotel in the morning after going hard all night.

As you touched on, there are always good options for the money on the strip. The mid-range hotels like PH are good enough. In Vegas the service staff everywhere WANTS to take care of you, because they want you to spend money. Sliding some loot to this person and that person is always money well spent. Especially now with the economy what it is, there are plenty of rooms available, and they want you to spend. It's no skin off them to upgrade you to a bigger room that's empty anyway, but that tip makes them want to give it to YOU, instead of someone else.

Nice report. I have already written about comps. I probably spend about the same, but use a large bankroll to get luxurious acccommodations. As a skilled player, I'm able to play without losing.

Ironically, you can price your self out of a good time. Hot young girls can only afford Planet Hollywood or Rio. Good job pulling them back to your suite. Yes, you definitely want to be conveniently situated.

I don't believe in the $20 bill trick. I have had the tip refused and gotten an upgrade anyway. As you noted, being nice at the right time can make you lucky.

I've stayed often at Caesars. By the "courtyard", did you mean the pool? Or are you talking about the sportsbook bar, the forum casino, the forum shops, the sidewalk bar in front of Caesars (closer to Bellagio), or something else?

As I said earlier they were college girls and north american 7's.

I also mentioned that this probably won't work for 8+'s, just like in any major city the top tier is usually reserved for the people with incredible game, celebrity status or money that we could only dream of.

As an example, a group of 7-8 top tier girls that I knew from home were in Vegas the same time as me. We met up a couple times during the weekend and they told us their entire weekend was basically paid by rich betas. Every time they were at the pool they were invited into some guys cabana and showered with drinks. At one point they met an older guy with money and ended up partying with the dude at the playboy suite at the Palms.

There is no way the average guy can compete with these betas because they unlimited cashflow and the girls no they can use him and not even fuck him.

I was too much of an emotional gambler back then, and didn't really understand how the comp system worked, but you are absolutely right about being hooked up with comps.

As for the sandwich trick, you are right that you do not need the $20 to get an upgrade, but in my opinion if $20 makes it a bit easier than it is well worth it. Usually the front desk will return the money if no upgrades are available so there is really no risk.

I am assuming it was the sidewalk bar, like I said it was 4 years ago, night time and I was already drunk but it was outside and just beyond the Caesars complex (I guess caesars courtyard was a bad description) In reality the place was not special at all, just a bar in the middle of an open space, but it just happened to be near one of the entrances to caesars.
