Over the years, the standard line "you don't need money, looks, fame, etc., if you have game" is something I've run across so many times, I couldn't count that high if I tried.
But is it true? The most common statement I've seen to "prove" the former to be true runs along the lines of, "there are tons of rich guys that can't pull." Followed not far behind with things like, "I'd rather have game than be wealthy or good-looking."
The problem I have with that, as much as I'd love to believe it all, is that I have yet to see even ONE single example of a guy who pulls anything above an 8 who doesn't fulfill at least of of the criteria.
The assertion that a wealthy man with no game is always the one that's used. But why does it have to be a wealthy man with "no" game? The comparison is never made a a wealthy man who is just average in every other respect.
Anyone ever watch Millionaire Matchmaker? Yes, the show is pretty gay, but I'm fascinated at just how powerful being rich can be. Not every girl is gorgeous, but there are always plenty of gorgeous girls. Sometimes, the guy is just average-looking or even below, and the girls never have a problem with it. These girls would not give these guys the time of day on the street. I'd be willing to bet that if it were a regular matchmaking service and the showed the guy's profile as him being his physical self with an income of $45,000, the still wouldn't give him the time of day - even if the service told her he was her perfect match.
Given what I have witnessed (or the lack of something I have witnessed), a regular-looking guy with a $5M bank account and a NORMAL personality will own the "game" guy who is making $40k/yr each and every time.
So I'm looking for someone to prove me wrong. Here's the challenge.
Do you know someone who fits all the following criteria and can still pull quality girls (or maybe YOU)?
1) less than 5'6"
2) higher than 23% body fat
3) significantly receded hairline or bald
4) makes less than $45,000 per year (US) (or the equivalent of that adjusted for local economy - for example, something like $10k a year in Bangkok)
5) is not famous, not even locally
6) doesn't hold any position of 'power'
7) has a lousy sense of style
8) is no better than average looking (ugly preferred)
Who that fits the above description can pull hot 8's or better consistently? CONSISTENTLY. Lots of guys get a lucky one-off at some point in their lives. I'm looking for an example where 'game' is the knowledge of how to "talk" your way into a woman's pants.
You might argue that forums like this one encourage guys to work out and dress well, etc., and I'm sure that all helps, but that is not 'game', IMO.
Game is supposed to transcend all of these classic superficial characteristics.
Also, I'm talking about the ability to pull on cold approaches. I think that, in certain circumstances, a guy with a really great personality could pull an 8 in situations where he can get to know her in a social setting such as in class, social club, etc.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying game won't help a guy. It will. Just developing the balls to approach will increase your success rate fivefold. Add to that the ability to escalate at the right time by reading when she's ready and you'll do even better. Then there are loads more things you can do to keep increasing your success. But I have yet to see a guy who matches every point on the checklist that can cross the 6.5 or 7 threshold. He will do better than he did before, yes, but I haven't seen one really do GREAT.
