Good camera

I need a new camera for my trip in Dec. I would like it to be midrange for taking some nice hi def pictures. I think my max price range would be 200 dollars although I'd love something for less.

Also, I would like to know where I can get a good spy camera for taking subtle pics. When I say spy camera, I mean a camera that looks like a cap or a pen.

Remember, I live in Canada and most of the shyt they sell in America, the fcukers won't ship over here so bear that in mind when making recommendations. I need this in a hurry, I only have three weeks left.

Thanks, fellas.

Honestly, buying cameras if you're in Canada is kind of a pain because there is nowhere near the selection you get in the US (my family is in Canada).

If I were you, I'd just head to Future Shop and pick up a Canon or Nikon that you like the look of and is in your price range. I also like the Panasonic Lumix cameras, but I don't know how available they are in Canda. Just buy a big SD card so you can keep on clicking without worrying about storage. Ignore anything about digital zoom, it's meaningless. Get something that's 10MP, and preferably that has wide angle capability.

I'd be tempted to buy this one (it's on sale and in your price range): http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/n...1bcd53en02

What size SD card would you recommend? 2GB suffice or more? Why do you disregard digital zoom?

I would not go with less than 4GB, especially for a 16MP camera. The cards are cheap as hell. Digital zoom has no bearing on how close you can zoom onto your subject, only optical zoom matters. If you're just going to be taking pictures of scenery and lizards, cameras like the one above will be fine.

Yes, I bought one, the one Krauser uses. It's a pen spy cam.

If you wear a dark button down shirt with a pocket it's almost completely unnoticeable. One thing to keep in mind with this one is that it has an annoying blinking blue light (which faces away from target, however), when the camera is recording. You can always paint over it with dark nail polish if you want, but I haven't bothered to. If questioned about it, say it's a GPS or a Bluetooth amplifier.

had the same problem, easiest way around it is call up a ups store in a border us city and you can fill out all the paperwork over the phone and fax them a copy of your dl passport whatever and just get it shipped there, they'll mail it to your mailbox then just have the mailbox center ship it to you in canada. For me borders only an hour away so I'll send shit there and go pick it up and drive it over myself. Just for future purposes, something to keep in mind. So many better products and deals available in the us, it helps to have a us addy for them.

I use a Nikon Coolpix S70. It's got the 3" touch screen (the whole back of the camera is screen), and it's 12MP with 5X zoom. I have a 2GB SD card in there, but you can get bigger cards for cheap. I have a larger camera I use when I'm out doing the tourist thing, a Kodak Z980, that's 12MP with 24X zoom. I have the additional larger, more powerful flash for it also. It's also got a 3" screen on the back. I have a 16GB card in that one. Though it's bigger, I like it because it takes AA batteries. If you run out of juice, you can simply carry extra batteries and replace. With the other, it takes one of those rectangular rechargeables, so if you run out of juice, you have to plug in somewhere.

For the spycam, just do a search for "spy cams" or "lipstick cameras" or something like that. Most of the retailers that carry that stuff will have a variety of small cameras you can hide and record yourself banging some unsuspecting honey...HA HA!

if you're looking for a cam with video look at the zi8. it's small, easy to use, takes hd 720 and 1080 vid and good photos. it can fit into a shirt pocket without looking strange.

Moma bro!

Just spent decent money on a Canon 1TI and I love it, spend a bit extra and get a decent camera.
You can then build up from there with lenses etc.

Check out Henry's outlet or Best Buy after Xmas.
