I agree and I concur, but I would still like to see tenderman100 counter aside from the name-calling (calling him a bumpkin) part.

The fact of the matter is that some people only look at politics through the scope of what the media presents them. The majority of news outlets, when they need someone to give an opinion from "the left", are pretty lazy so they go to whoever, in this case Michael Moore, people recognize. The Left does not consider Michael Moore their spokesperson. If anything, Michael Moore is a guy who is just trying to put out certain information to the general public that the general public, not having access to the information for whatever reason, does not have access to. Michael Moore is a documentary maker, who puts a certain twist to his documentaries.

Documentaries are informational film. The information is whatever the documentary maker wishes to present. The film maker is just a film maker. The film maker is not an elected spokesperson of a cause. The film maker is taking it upon himself (enterprising) and getting the information and crew together to piece together information bits to present it a certain way.

Just as much as I don't look at Bill O'Reilly as the spokesperson of the educated Right, I don't look at Michael Moore the spokesperson of the educated Left, and neither should you!

You should take it upon yourself to look at the different pieces of information and see how that makes sense to your life.

Michael Moore is a free-enterprising individual who has decided to spend his life exposing certain bits of life on FILM! He is not anything more than that! If that FILM makes money, he has whatever rights granted upon him, to make use of that money however he wishes! In any case, he is not the spokesperson of the Left!

Do you want to know who the Left is? Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Peter Irons, and a bunch of other guys and girls. If you want to learn about the Left, read some books! Don't read what Andrew Breitbart, Matt Drudge, or whoever else has to say. Use your own BRAIN and figure out what you think. But the most important thing is to USE YOUR BRAIN.

Thank you very much and good night.

No. The overwhelming majority of the media has a majority of different stances. The Left is a group that does not have access to the media. What news channel ever brings on Noam Chomsky or, while he was still alive, Howard Zinn?

"The Media" is trying to make money. That is their number one concern. They have to get advertisers. They have to attract audiences to sell to the advertisers. The Media is not The Left.

And, if you think the media is The Left, then you're playing right into their hands.

According to the forum Guidelines I'm sure this should be considered just as faux-pas as what I said to tenderman100 before. But, I'll take it as a badge of honor in this case because, I'm going to go out on a whim here, but you're an idiot.

"Liberal" media bias is not what we're talking about here.

I was talking about The Left, which is different from the "liberal media bias" you're talking about, which usually means "gay jewish feminist" agenda in your case. That's not what's being discussed here, and if you bother reading any of the posts before you'll notice that isn't what's being discussed. Michael Moore has become a sort of punch bag for the people on the Right as a representative of The Left.

The Left is usually a struggle for the underclass. The guy who works but doesn't get his "fair share." The many millions of people who work at minimum wage jobs who can't afford health care. The many millions of people who allow large societies to function, don't screw the societies over by taking risky bets, but don't get any respect.

The Left is a movement to allow the normal people to get the respect they might deserve. It's a basic civil rights issue. Your "gay feminist jew" liberal media idea slant is a tangent.

If you think The Media is serving the regular guy, which is what The Left is all about, then you, buddy, are a <insert offensive expletive here>.

Re-read the forum rules.

Every time anyone disagrees with you, they're an "idiot", "hypocrite",
"clueless"...

Such as?

You should try watching real "liberal media" sometime... actually these outlets are often run by people who were fired from what you call the liberal media? Why were they fired? b/c of intense pressure to tow the line.

I dont care if Michael Moore is a R or D. I'm saying he's a hypocritical asshole to stand up and complain about the 1% when he is clearly one of them.

Calling it a 1% vs 99% is a ploy by the right wing to make it seem like class warfare. Why do you think those guys are occupying Wall Street? It's because this protest is mainly about this financial meltdown, and the financiers doing everything within their power to make their financial situations better while bringing the country down. Bill Gates is in the 1% but you won't find many OWS folk willing to put him down. Why? Because Bill Gates and other upper class citizens take it upon themselves to use their wealth for the greater good. Those guys at Goldman Sachs et al. are not known for the same goodness of heart.

So if you want to be an idiot and paint the picture as black vs white because your mind is not capable of fathoming any other type of situation then go ahead, be a tard. Otherwise, use your critical thinking faculties and take a good look at the world outside of the way you're used to looking at it.

No thats not a part of the ploy. The ploy is framing it as the 99% versus the 1%. As far as I know there aren't too many people who are saying bring down the 1%, which is how the media is attempting to frame it. In fact, the whole point of saying "we are the 99%" is to say, "hey wall street, we are living in this fucking country too. Look where your policies have left us. There are a lot of us down here. You're getting away with it because our legislators are letting you, because they're in your pockets, but we're not going to let you get away with it"

i actually agree w/that general premise but i think they've been sidetracked by too many morons. as ridiculous as it sounds if the OWS crowd got together w/the Tea Party crowd I think they'd have a lot more in common then you'd realize.

Actually according to the economist, to be in the top 1% of richest people in the world you only need to have a net worth of more than $525,000

I passed that net worth some time ago but I sure as hell don't feel like I am one of the elite

Of course the median figure is heavily weighed down by the millions in Africa living on $1 per day

The 1% is not exactly an elite club either as there are approximately 6,800,000 members of that particular club
