Its almost that time of year again, and I noticed some request for info.

WHISTLER, BC, CANADA

CITY OVERVIEW

Located just over an hour north of Vancouver. The population is about 10,000 people. It is very compact, and the town is pedestrian only. There are large car lots on the edges and some hidden around the hotels. The town sits a top an old rubble pile spit from the volcanoes back in the day. The elevation sits higher due to this. Squamish (40 minutes south) is at sea level and Pemberton (20min north) is much lower then Whistler and has better weather but is a ranching type town.

GIRLS

7/10 Almost all are athletic and cruise around in yoga pants and fur boots. They are generally quite friendly and easy going. You can usually spot a local due to her having a dog. They are nice, but are often locked down. Focus on tourists.

SIGHT SEEING

Its all about the skiing. Brandywine falls and Nairn falls are a couple great spots to check out for nature if not on the slopes. Otherwise just walk around the village and see whats up.

LODGING

Renting a condo is recommended if traveling with a few others. Only downfall to this is they are about a 10min walk outside the village. A two bedroom is around $200/ night if you work around the busy dates.

Pan Pacific- Right in the centre of the base of the mountains. Across from the Longhorn Saloon (awesome apres spot and patio). Great roof jacuzzi for socializing after a day on the slopes (very important, as this is where night plans are hatched).

DAY GAME

Slopes. Gondola/ chairlift, dog park, coffee shops.

NIGHTLIFE

Start out apres. Longhorn Saloon, Dustys, Merlins. Crystal lounge (popular hidden local spot) for cheap wings and beer until 6.

Jacuzzi with some beers and meet other riders and tourists.

Dinner: Cheap spots like splitz burger and places around there.

Or go for some sit down like Earls, the Keg or the Thai place in upper village.

Sushi Village is insanely popular with locals and the party rocks here in the private booths late. It is a restaurant but has a good atmosphere.

Hys steakhouse is popular and a little more expensive. Worth it for sure.

Bar/ club: Just hit the village in the evening and see what patios are rocking. Have a few there.

Garfinkles for a heavy drinking party atmosphere. Lots of locals.

MOJOS is the same pretty much.

Maxx Fish trys to be little classier and attracts more of a Vancouver crowd.

Buffalo Bills is a legendary cougar spot. Often has good ratios as well.

Tommy Africas is the biggest spot in town and has DJ's that often play good music. Matt the Alien has been a long resident here.

GLC (Garibaldi Lift Company) is a cool venue and attracts a diverse crowd of locals, Vancouver, tourists. One of my favorites.

Cinnamon Bear is pretty hidden local spot in the Hilton hotel. Good crowds and cool people.

APPROACHING

People are friendly here an very used to tourists. We all want people to have a good time and love to have cool people around. There are cliques as its a small town, but smiling and asking questions and easy conversation will be very well received. There is a huge Australian, British, Japanese community here, with the Aussies making up much of the front end labour. There is also a growing Mexican and Brazilian population here as well, and not just tourists.
Just talk to people. If people are not racing for the lifts, they are not really doing anything. They will likely stop and chat and help out a lost tourist.

PRICES

This is Canada, so it can be quite high.

Pint of domestic- $5-$8
Canadian whiskey $6
Meal low end $12
Meal middle end $20

LOGISTICS

Stay in the village. Its walkable everywhere.

PROS/ CONS

Amazing skiing and high end amenities. So much skiable terrain it will take three seasons to get to know it well. Lots of snow.

Lots of tourists. Can be very busy on huge pow days. On these days many people call in sick to work and overburdens the services in the village. High men to women ratio.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I used to live there part time for four years. I was there for the skiing and therefore was up very early in the mornings. I would go out mainly for special parties and events and I would do well with girls. I found Quebecois and Norwegian women to be my favorite as well as very cool.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Choose either Whistler or Blackcomb and get to know it well. Otherwise you will be looking always and will not easily remember where the good stuff is. For snowboarders I would recommend Blackcomb as the pitch of the mountain is better. Whister has some spots that will require you to unstrap and push or walk.

Nice datasheet. The skiing at Whistler really is exceptional and this is coming from somebody who grew up in the middle of a bunch of Colorado ski resorts. I need to make my way back there sometime.

I hear ya, its hard to justify a big trip when there is so much good terrain in your area. I need to make it down that way, I have only heard good things about Colorado.

Question:

Assuming $$$ is not any issue, and you are not a skier (I live in tropical ocean climates), can you still go up to Whistler to game/chase women? or is it not worth the trip because pussy is focused on skiing, and your chances of getting laid are dramatically reduced to almost zero?

Tell them you're up there for some kind of business thing, or you're a surfer. Lessons aren't too unreasonably priced.

The skiiers/boarders tend to have their own lingo and talk about skiing/boarding a lot so you might be kind of out of the loop with the hot aussie girls. I'd still go up during winter time its a great sight, plus there are still lots of tourist girls and girls ready to be gamed at places like garfs, who knows they might get bored of ski-swag and go for you.

If you really wanted to try it out I'd head to vancouver and during your stay there make a day/night trip up to whistler and see how it goes.

I am in Sweden now so I cant say how it is.

MIxx, Whistler actually has a decent amount of Brasilians and Mexicans that go up there to learn. Keep your eyes peeled for some latinas and see if they are in some lessons. Then register for the same one. Or better yet, find a few ladies that want to learn and hire a private instructor. It is a lot of fun to learn.

Also pop into a few places in the international student part of Vancouver (Hastings and Richards area) and see if they have a shuttle going up. Often it takes care of rentals, lessons, and the bus to and from Whistler. It also gives you an hour and a bit to make some new friends.

Thanks for the advice Laner. I don't think I've notice your posts until now.

I am a latin man, so I am ardently against fucking any latinas right now - sick of them..had 'em all of my life. I'd much rather be fucking swedish blondes like you are right now =)

So, if I see any Mexican, or Brazilian or any latina, I run the other way!!

So, with that said, how do I fuck the white, blonde tail?

This sounds like a good option, I'll keep it in mind . =)

I am up in Whistler at least twice a week (I live in Vancouver), mostly to go skiing but I do stay the occasional night over. There are a LOT of Ozzies there propping up the local job market - they operate the lifts and ring the tills etc etc.

I second Laner's tip on sticking to one mountain, especially if you are just there for one or two weeks. If you are a complete powder hound and wanting to find a fresh line during or the day after a pow day then hit the flute bowl all the way in Harmony. It will take you a minimum of 1 hour to hike there but its inbounds and avi controlled. Otherwise the mid alpine tree runs are your best bet - just don't fall into a tree well. Pow days are a bit insane really - the last one I was there for was completely trashed by 11am and that was with one of the gondolas down.

I might get lynched for saying this, but Blackcomb offers a "fresh tracks breakfast".

For $20 you get a decent breakfast and access to gondola before regular folks. It puts you into the Crystal chalet and you essentially get one run down before the crowds. Definitely worth it on pow days for first rips on Spankys Ladder or the Couloir.

I thought that one was on the Whistler side?

I think that we can allow the following resort secrets for our fellow forum members, it's not like the punters would be looking up this forum:

- On a pow day aim to be at the Whistler Gondola for 09 30ish and get the thing all the way to the top. (lol just kidding)

- Avoid Whistler unless you want to go to Harmony and Symphony (or you know the mid alpine tree runs).
- Upload the Wizard chair. It opens around 8ish, on pow days be there for 7 and wait. Popping off your skiis and grabbing a coffee is ok but don't take the mick.
- Do a couple of runs and then check in with patrol to see if 7th and showcase is going to open.
- Get a couple of runs on 7th, traversing skier's left until you get a fresh run.
- Hit the Glacier or Spanky's after that.
- Understand that you day finding epic lines is done by 12 unless you know the tree runs in the Crystal area and have the gear in case of immersion.
- Call it once the place is trashed and hit the pub, maybe even network with some of those Ozzie lifties to see what's going on.

That is one for the hardcore - if you are a beginner or there for going out to the pubs and clubs then for sure do some lessons and get talking to your fellow beginners.

very good data sheet, but I would have to dis-agree with one point

Hotness of the women at best, 5 and that's me being super generous

back in 2008, I did a season and went back for a fortnight in 2010 and both times the talent was diabolical.

If your a semi decent looking you can easily pick up, but you wouldn,t want to. You date down hard.
As horny as girls get on holiday, there was no way I was dropping my standards. The longest periods i Have ever gone without.

Trust me MiXX if you've got images of hot swedish blonde blue eyed gazelle who you can get insome apres-ski hot tub naughtiness on with, forget it.

If your into ski-ing boarding go for it, but chasing girlls, think again. I've seen mor hotties inhalf an hour at home then half a year in Whistler

Did I mention the talent was bad?

I am no gentleman

I went last weekend, didn't go out to the bars just to the slopes and apres at some place with my friends family so I'm basing it off of that experience. I'd agree with you that the hotness is about 5, but thats the average. there were little to NO fat people on the slopes whatsoever and I'm assuming that'd carry over to the bars. The women there tended to be with groups of people or family, at one point I was flirting with a brittish girl on the gondola only to realize she was sitting beside her dad, I got weirded out with him glaring at me.

That being said the girls have athletic bodies and I saw more blonde girls with pigtails than I could count (very boner inducing to me) sadly on the mountains you cant really run game aside from chitchat on the lifts or sitting beside someone in the roundhouse/wherever you get food. I did chat up this SMOKING HOT blonde german girl. she had bad english but It didnt matter, she was honestly one of the hottest girls I've talked to. i didn't get far in only 5 minutes of conversation.

So yeah you will get ugly/older women, but when the girls are hot they are HOT, but also rare and at least on the mountain harder to approach.

One thing you can do if you're skiing with a group is to all get in the singles line when you get on the lift. It gets you up the mountain faster and increases your chances of sitting next to a hot girl. Depending on the lift you then have 5-10 minutes to spit some hot fire and go for the meet-up later that night at the bar (going elderly works great by the way--there's a million things you can ask about like whether her jacket's warm, how good are her skis, has she found any good snow today, etc.). It's a great incentive to ski hard and get in as many runs as possible. [Image: lol.gif]

I am up in Whistler again for the WSSF (World Ski/Snowboard Festival).

I need to add something to this DATA sheet as well.

Scandinave Spa. I hit the place up today after a night of epic partying.

There were so many women at this place, it caused me some real double takes. For real ratios of 5:1.

Its a Japanese style outdoor thermal bath. Hot/Cold pools, thermal waterfalls, saunas, meditation rooms, massage areas. Its easy to see why it attracts so many women.

Talking in the spa is "frowned upon" but the pools are fine. Lots of groups of women 3 and more, but mostly its groups of 2. And take it as you may, but the women are not wearing makeup so you get a good idea of what you are dealing with. Also they are in bathing suits, so again you know what you are getting.

I am staying at the Aava. Its new, has a great location, and for some reason attracts a lot of hot women. There must be a group of 20 Brazilian girls here that are ripping it up hard.

And to address the "Average of 5". I can agree with that. But for real, there are a lot of hot women here that are down to party. Last night at one point I looked around me and had one of those moments where I told myself this is the life I live and I will fight to the bitter end to always ensure I have this level of beautiful women around me forever. So in a place like Whistler, its all about timing. If you end up in a place full of groups of thirsty Aussie guys, the women will reflect that (they will make you sick). Just do what it takes to get in the places with the women. I only spent $25 greasing my way into two different spots last night ($20 for the BudLight party, $5 for Stanton Warriors!). Whistler is a town like Vegas that loves a bold man, and $20 is the most I have ever had to spend to get into any party. Find the legendary parties (Reef, Roxy, Monster, RedBull, etc) and get in there. You will be blown away.

What's the earliest one can go to Blackcomb?

I've wanted to visit early december and learn how to snowboard in Aspen mid November but apparently the scene sucks so I might postpone Colorado.

Flying DFW-Vancouver then heading to Blackcomb since I'll be a fucking newbie. Got my NF and Helleys ordered. Figured if I'm going to suffer in Oklahoma working, might as well hit some cold spots and catch some powda.

Whistler is good almost year round. During the winter they have the snow sports and during the warmer months they have mountain biking. You can do snow sports there up until July I think.

A good way to find out where the parties are at is to ask the cab drivers if they know anything going on.

Man I miss my Whistler days. I lived there for just over 2 years in total, managed one of the lodges and a few properties in the last year; - now doing some 'real' life for a bit to get an engineering ticket that hopefully allows me travel time to make it out there a couple times a year.

Whistler is a decent party spot with everything self contained in a small village. Depending on the time of year depends on the quality of the parties IMO. Things tend to lull and get a bit cliquey during the mid season (at least for the local crowd). Go out anytime in late October - through to end of November for an abundance of 20 y/o Aussie girls doing their first season away from mum and dad. However, skiing, snowboarding and MTN biking are pretty male dominated hobbies and it does tend to become a sausage fest in most of the clubs after midnight. However, seconded as someone else mentioned there is like zero fat chicks in the entire resort, 90% are your standard lu lu lemon yoga hotties wearing oversized Burton hoodies. The big USA holidays tend to get pretty wild, MLK being a big one with line ups of USA college kids everywhere.

Bar scene is great though;
1. Tapleys (on a Sunday best night going, live music, competitions, generally good crowd)
2. Dublin Gate for a decent pint and chats with vacationers
3. Longhorns patio is usually busy on weekend nights
4. Earls (for the servers) and decent food

Snowboarding there is 'alright'. It's not the powder Mecca that it's marketing has people believe, too low an elevation and too coastal to get real good dry snow consistently. Also lift lines after snowfall are insane that it's just now worth it; everything is tracked by 9:30am. Head interior BC for quieter slopes, cheaper lift tickets and riding powder past lunchtime. But if you're around in Vancouver or Seattle, Whistler is definitely worth the trip.
