Got it last night. Solid product for sure. Right up there with Ambition and Cole World IMO (and I liked those two quite a bit). It has been a very good season for hip-hop.

All great songs, I think if Free Spirit, Dreams Money Can Buy, and Club Paradise were on the album they would still be 3 of the best songs on there.

I was not expecting this album to sound like what it sounds like.

Much better than the 1st effort which I thought had a number of bangers, but this one is much less commercial sounding.

Top notch production, and all the features feel right except the perfunctory Birdman and Nicki Minaj parts.

Alright so I've given it a couple listens. My thoughts:

Great music and great sound, but the lyrics are too soft in half the songs. I feel like he's singing for women, and the tone is those songs is that the women are "special." He's putting them on a pedestal. I don't mind a little bit of R&B feel, but then in other songs he goes hard about "putting a body" on someone, implying that he's a gangster, when his background is well known.

I think the reason so many white guys like Drake is because he's a soft introduction to hip hop, but I need something a bit harder.
