This Atlantic article notes that as mens' employment aspects dwindle, women must choose between poor men and playboys. Basically the young women hook up with the alpha playboys and then wonder why they can't find a rich successful husband when they are in their thirties.

See the comments too. Some say the women are unrealistically picky. They all want to date 10's who make more money. As a consequence, many women are not getting married at all. Middle-class white women are following the lower-class African-America pattern of single mothers. I'm not sure what the incentive is for men to get married.

The main problem with such articles in general is asking people what they want. To give you an idea, do you want to make one million dollars a month? Do you want a private jet? Do you want a harem of ten 18yo girls?

I'm sure you do.
Now, what does it mean?

Does it mean you won't settle for a job which pays $100K a month, or even $5k a month?
Does it mean you won't settle for a good car?
Does it mean you won't settle for one good looking girlfriend, even if you want a harem of ten?

What people say they want is completely useless piece of information which is only good for some mental masturbation.

This is why I always laugh when I see the checklists.
