You know how girls have "baby showers"? We in the manosphere should start having abortion showers. We can shower guys like Mixx with such hilarious, ironic gifts as a huge box of condoms or a pack of Plan Bs, and play silly games like see who can undo a bra with one hand the fastest (probably me). The celebrant can wear a crown to the bar we go to and demand attention and free drinks from random chicks.

She was probably knocked up from someone else and tried to test you in the beginning to see if you would jump on it and support her. When she knew you wouldn't, she got it taken care of. Typical female shit.

Lol, ok Old,we know how you work, so work it out. I don't think there is anything to gain form bullshitting a forum on a matter of such, but I'll answer you to the best of my knowledge.

I'm not saying you're talking bullshit. I'm just interested in details since I know very little about how the family court system works here in US. There are, however, some basic things which are universal, and those raised some questions already.

Quote:Quote:

1. We are not talking about a barrio chick, she is from strata5 , and is a professional woman from a real good family. They lived together in Colombia at the time, but were not married. (union libre)

So I assume he left Colombia after the baby was born, and moved to the USA? Did she know where he lived?

Quote:Quote:

2. She resides in Colombia to this day. The child was born in Colombia . The request was made on her behalf by her attorney to The dept. of humans services, which was referred from the request made by her attorneys when he refused to claim the child, stating infidelity.

Are we talking about the US attorney or Colombian attorney?
Are we talking about the Dept of Human Services of a specific state?

Quote:Quote:

The request came directly from Colombia, and the dept. of human services chose to honor the request. He was in fact ordered to take a blood test( Paternity test) and that was sent to her attorney.

That's where I am losing you completely. AFAIK the Department of Human Services cannot order you to take the DNA test or do the deposition on you. They do not have such power by law. What they can do is they can sue you and try to get the court order for that, but this is too far-fetched. This is where your story makes no sense for me.

Upon confirmation, he still didn't want to pay, so, her move was to have him sued here.

This would mean traveling to the US and paying around $50K or so out of pocket - with a real chance to get nothing in return for quite a while. So the whole operation makes little sense to me unless the girl was poor, and the dude was very rich, and had some public profile.

This was my view and research on the matter too Oldnemesis.

My (Colombian) attorney told me that she would have to cough-up a LOT of out-of-pocket money to chase me down, and just to get me to voluntarily submit to a DNA test. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of time off work to fill out dozens of paperwork. Which she will just not have to pursue the matters - especially chasing you to America.

Let's say it all plans out, it would be at least 3 years after you voluntarily submitted a DNA test, and THEN she can claim with Colombian child support services FIRST, another year of paperwork and chasing.

Colombia has a TON of single moms. None of them chase men for support, even the local rich dudes that live there! Colombian child support laws favor men. That is, you pay based on money it would take to raise a child in a poor neighborhood. It does not go by how much money the father makes!!

Now, the girl I was talking about was not a Colombian socialite, she was a barrio chic from Bello who worked at a small local mall selling cell phones, but she still had a smokin' hot body! [Image: smile.gif]

Nem , without running the risk of debating who, what, where, and why, look at the post about international child support by deepcovr3. There you will find all the information that both he and I have posted and I think Celtic posted there as well. It sounds odd to you , but it does, and can happen. I didn't even know the post existed. You can see the list of countries that now participate and there are a some that have back door agreements with the U.S.... Again, today, it does not take a lot of resources to pull this off as you may think. Maybe you can ask Deepcovr3 and Celtic how it happened. Over and out. If all else fails, call CSE in each state and the Dept. of human services or better yet, just look in their handbook, its on line.

Not really. I'm interested in the direct experience with the system, which is what you described. I'm not interested in some abstract opinions, Internet is already full of those scares about how poor guys are raped by the "unfair family courts". And most of those articles are obviously written by the people who only watched lawyers on TV.

To be short, I'm curious to learn about the things which happened. Much less useful to hear about something which could happen.

The list of participating countries seem to be only related to enforcing child support - i.e. when the court already set up the child support, and the parent left to one of those countries. I didn't see anything there about establishing the child support.

And I don't believe in backdoor agreements of this kind. How the court is supposed to enforce this backdoor agreement? Sure, the department of human and health services may decide to go after you - but if you're uncooperative with them and they'll have to sue you, how the court could decide in their favor? I don't get it.

The way he described it was like anyone in Colombia can get an attorney and submit the request to the Department to get the DNA sample of Donald Trump because she believes she has a baby from him, and Donald Trump would have to give the sample, and the test results would be shared with the Colombian lawyers. This sounds VERY unrealistic to me.

This is my conclusion so far as well. Basically the only real option she has is to move to US, track you down in some state, hire an attorney in that state, file the case in the family court, serve you with papers and spend couple of years doing the litigation. This means a lot of money, and a lot of time. So she spends $50K and two years to establish paternity, then she goes back to Colombia and files for child support, but since you aren't there, you don't even give a fuck - you go to a court, change your name, apply for a different passport and forget about her.

This would only make sense if she wants to receive the child support in US - but she has to stay in US for that (or in any countries which have the child support enforcement agreement with the US). Which is problematic.
