It finally happened...

I met a girl in a retail store a few weeks back and through a stumbling conversation I managed to get her number. I didn't think it would go anywhere. She asked how old I was from the start and I told her I was 28. As she texted me for the first time she expressed some resistance to this as she was 18. I stopped for a moment and referred back to my RooshV Forum Education. I turned the tables and confidently told her that I knew she was too young for me but that I'd manage somehow. I joked about needing a hip replacement soon. It worked. She laughed and we set up a date.

Unfortunately, she didn't live nearby. She was 20 minutes away by car and an hour by public transit. She agreed to drive down and see me and within a week we were hanging out in the park together. Everything went great.

She's an 18-year-old college girl born in Iran but raised mostly in America. She was sweet and mature with a cute face and an amazing rack. I couldn't believe I managed to pull this. This was poised to be my greatest bang yet.

As we strolled through the park I decided to get a little physically aggressive. I put my arm around her as we walked, which I normally don't do. Just this week I began probing for another date. Both of our schedules conflicted and she was busy with school, but I figured that our date went so well that I was bound to get something soon. I texted this morning to see when she was available this week. The response came several hours later:

"This week I'm working and prepping for a final. So..I was thinking and I think you're too old for me. I'm not too comfortable with the 10 year age difference."

My jaw dropped and my heart sunk. There was no way that I lost this that quickly. I WAS IN, DAMN IT! I've gotten comments and cold shoulders based on my age, but this is the first time a girl has ever explicitly told me that I was too old to date her.

My first reaction was to just let the whole thing go, but I knew that fighting resistance often pays off. My RooshV Education has been paying off so far but now I need a new tool for my box. What's the best way to approach this? Or is all lost?

I've been thinking to respond with something like: "Yeah, I don't think your dad would like you dating such an old dude." I figure associating her fears with someone she's likely rebelling against would work in my favor. I know I have to be very careful here or I'll legitimize her fear of me. I think part of her resistance is also coming from the distance she'd have to travel to see me. I was thinking it would be best to make an effort to go and see her so she has one less thing to worry about. Thoughts?

I'm with the other guys, if you are looking for younger girls you can lie. If I dress young I can pass for 23-25, but I'm as old as you. I get checked out by college girls and jail bait all the time. well this sounds like you actually moved too slow with her IMO. i know it's good to be considerate and all that but unless the girl really stops you physically you don't go hard enough. i prefer much more to come across as too hard and tone it down later when she objects than to play to not lose and prolong it. truth is you never know where the line is unless you don't cross it. and that's basically ALL I WANT to know.. where is her line (what she considers "too fast"). cause i remember situations when i expected resistance escalating faster and girl didn't resist at all.. i thought "oops i better go harder with this one"

oh man.. you gotta understand this. a girl DOESN'T GIVE A FUCK about all shit like age, hair/skin color, being in shape, career choice etc. she only wants a guy who's ON TOP OF HIS SHIT. an awesome badass who's stronger than any of her shittest and her bullshit she throws at him. she only cares if YOU care. meaning that if you give a 1% of a fuck about your age as an issue then she's gonna feel that weakness about you and will blow you out. even hiding behind some cute cocky funny lines is lame as it shows that you actually give a quite large of a fuck about this thing and just want to save face.

Look at the first statement: "I didn't think it would go anywhere; she asked how old I was". You instincts were already on alert , Cup.

2nd statement, : "unfortunately , she didn't live nearby;20 min. by car, an hour by transit". Is transport is a problem for you? Was it for her? As young as she is, how much initiative do you think she really had, to come "see you"?

I submit to you that if you had vetted the young squab a bit more, you would've understood way in advance that this is not going to be easy. Secondly, her family is more important than you, so, her reputation counts more so than any game you could throw at her. Thirdly, this girl is actually telling you ( per body language) that she wanted something sincere, she was looking ahead, but you were stuck in the present ( You're hot, I want to fuck you right now). It's not that you're too old, its that you're too old for where she is in life right now. Big difference. Will she fuck? Maybe she will, maybe she won't. Question is, do you want to put in the time?

She is not having second thoughts because of the age difference. It's because you want her more than she wants you and you showed it. She sensed that you were out of your comfort zone for what ever reason. And that dating girls like her wasn't something you normally do.

I don't think it was your age. I think she just didn't like you. Why? I could have been a variety of different things. My guess is that she sensed some awkwardness/insecurity in you. Saying you are "too old" is just an easy for her to dismiss you. If she liked you, she would care about age.

I def agree with XXL on this one, although when you hear a girl say the words "I'm 18 years old" it has the potential to throw you off your a-game because you just want to bang her as quick as possible.
