Iphone Sprint vs Verizon NYC

I have a grandfathered unlimited plan with Verizon, so if I get the iphone, i keep that plan, which is no longer really offered. I pay 115-120$ a month after taxes, for 450 minutes, unlimited data and text, and I get to be on a great network. Or I could switch to sprint, and for the same plan, 450 minutes and unlimited everything else, I'd pay 95$ after taxes.

Weigh in? I'm not going broke off 25$ extra a month, but is verizon that much better?

I would rather eat grass than to deal with Sprint or AT&T. If money is not an issue, and you don't want a shit load of dropped calls, stick with Verizon. It wont do you any good outside the U.S. ,but if you're not too concerned with that part of it, stick to Verizon.

Before you get the iPhone, check out the competition. You may be surprised:

Droid RAZR: 25% thinner, world's thinnest, 4G, and much bigger screen:

People always list the specs of other phones like it's all that matters... only to disregard customer satisfaction with said products.

The fact is, people who buy these Android phones are largely dissatisfied and end up going back to the iPhone whenever they get the chance. Not to forget that while you may be getting 4g speeds with the phone you listed, 4g eats up your battery like none other, and while you may have incredible speeds, you will not have the battery life to actually make use of your phone. A lot of people need to recharge mid-day!

What's the use of a phone that you need to recharge mid day, and having an OS that people seem to have many complaints about?

Whoa.

I didn't say it was better. I said to check out the competition.

Hell, check out the Windows phones, they have a nice interface.

Oh, and the RAZR is claimed to have 50%+ more talk time on a full charge than the iPhone 4S (12.5 hours vs 8).

Android satisfaction rates are much lower, but it's not an apples to apples comparison. There are lots of cheap shitty Android phones. Not so with the iPhone. That's why it's best to just decide for yourself. I prefer Android because the iPhone has a small screen.

That wasn't meant to be a personal shot btw. I just read a lot of bull from Android users on phone review sites.

Anyway, I personally switched over from AT&T to Verizon with my new iPhone 4S, and I am just happy that I can finally use my phone again! Verizon's service is sooooo much better than AT&Ts where I live. And Siri, although I haven't gotten around to taking full advantage of it yet, is going to take using the phone while driving to a whole notha level!

I have played around with my dad's android phone (which is on Sprint btw) and while it is a neat device, it is not as intuitive as the iPhone, but maybe that's because I'm just so used to the iPhone. His Android phone is 4G and he has to recharge that thing a few times per day, something he's not happy about. He's also not too satisfied with the Sprint coverage.

The iPhone 4S on Verizon has been great so far for me. The iMessage service, which is like BBM, will hopefully catch on (and it will as more iPhone users switch to iOS5) and txting (and its ridiculous fees) will go to the dustbin where it belongs.

Also, FaceTime, which I didn't think was going to be anything special, makes phone calls quite a bit more interesting and fun.
