Reflections on past 10-15 years and where we are now

I first got into game in 2010 and must say it's interesting to see how it's all panned out.

Was I successful? I guess successful enough. I got 12 lays in 1 year averaging one per month at my best. I have had multiple long term girlfriends too.
That took a lot of funnelling, going out, getting numbers, approaching, I used to think 1-2% conversion was decent if you were focusing on quality.
100 interactions (maybe 25 per week) for a lay.

Some might say that's bad but I know guys who literally go years without anything.

I used to know some guys who were counting 50/100+ lays. Were these guys weird? Probably, much more single-minded than me.
Above average attractiveness, completely shameless, focused 100% on results.
All these guys eventually settled down with long-term partners too.

Today in 2025 not sure if game even really exists :

Nightclubs and bars where you traditionally would meet people largely shut down
Street game is less effective and less socially tolerated than ever
Alcohol consumption down
Gym and run clubs are booming - but actually proper athletics is down
Steriod usage booming - looksmax trend is here
Festivals are doing ok but many going bankrupt
Dating apps still exist but massively degraded since 2013/14 era - described as a swamp for women and a desert for men
People glued to their phones - avg person spends 4-5 hours on their phones outside of work
Overtourism is a big problem in places like Spain, Croatia, many cities & countries
Many young people are super poor relative to 10 years ago - can't even afford rent for a room
Huge rise in male virgins - not surprising
Attention spans are fucked
Social media is mostly dead outside Tiktok

If you ask an average person how a young guy should meet women they will say "delete the apps, join clubs".

But to make a actual headway these guys would need to be doing multiple female heavy demographic clubs like :
run club, salsa, gymnastics, pilates, figure ice skating - and be able to enjoy the investment

If he joins a football club because he likes football then it doesn't work ha.

Moreover, culturally there's been a shift :

People spend more time online now but it's mostly a useless waste of time.

Back in the day you could fly into a place, post you had arrived and find people to hang out for a drink.
Sure some of them were losers but the guys who had been repped highly were mostly good, esp if repped positively by someone you had met firsthand.
You could also do this on facebook or reddit - now also deadzones.

You could find people who had good successful businesses or financial acumen and ask them for advice.
There were people who genuinely could inspire.

Hope was a thing. People believed in opportunity.

Incels were detested to say the least. It's weird to me manosphere today = murderous incel. These guys were seen as trash.
Mainstream racists were not really a thing until 2015/16. Before then they were on Stormfront.
Now you get Netflix Adolescence series and people thing this is what manosphere is about.

Trans thing was not an issue either.
I spent a lot of time in Thailand and never thought this would one day become something western media would obsess over.
Booming among Gen Z and contrary to perceptions it's more girls becoming boys than vice versa and strong link with autism.

AI is obviously taking off - up until now I had no real feeling on where we were going in 2020s post-covid.
Clearly AI is going to trend hard for a long time.
2 years ago Chat GBT was useless, 1 year ago it could do some cool things, now it's actually scary impressive and you know it only gets better from here.

Crypto getting mainstream acceptance and BTC thriving
Alts mostly exposed & universally accepted as scams even within crypto.

Worldwide tensions pretty bad. Much more of a realist multipolar world rather than a unipolar liberal rules based order
USA as the policeman you sometimes resented but generally appreciated - now very unpredictable.

Demographic collapse with birth rates withering away in almost all the world except Africa & Middle East

Global warming - I think really died off as an issue in the public consciousness post-covid. In 2007 this was huge.
When covid had airports shuttered and 100% cars off the road and yet barely a dip in worldwide CO2 I think many realised it's a useless/hopeless fight.

Hard to gauge any discernible pop culture icons. All these bands like Coldplay and singers like Taylor Swift were a thing pre-2010s. Yet still now they are the biggest?
It's like mainstream culture stopped. Replaced by niche interests on spotify playlists.

Cinema mostly dying too - repeat after repeat, sequel after sequel. Tom Cruise still making bank though.

People are atomised

Personally I am doing well for myself. I have lived in many expensive cities, good salary, nice bank account, enjoy going out, not extremely wealthy but fairly wealthy.
I can most likely retire early.

I have female friends, I am socially well adjusted. I am fit and in shape.

Yet sometimes I think about how is everyone else is doing. I don't think it's as easy for the upcoming generation as it was 10 years ago.
I think dating and game are not in a great place. It's harder than ever to meet people online and then catch up with them in real life.

Hope it pans out better but let's see.

The elites don't care as long as they're getting richer.
