The Good Old Days

Man I'm sad about the good ol' days being over.

This forum was a pain the ass at times with stupid fights and idiot mods and people (myself included) getting banned for nothing... but it was such a mecca of activity and information!

The new internet is shit compared with the Wild West days, the Zoomers and Alphas will never know how good it was, sadly for them...

Also, it seems every cunt and his dog is travelling the world now, escaping the shit that is the USA and the UK and the EU and Australia etc etc. Youtube is filled with NPC normie types talking about how cheap it is in SEA compared with back home, blah blah.. Nigs are even flying to places like Japan and the Philippines and completely fucking up those places with their nigardly ways... it's really horrible to witness.

Being older doesn't help either, at least the new fresh young guys have age, looks and strength on their side! (goes a looooong way)

Ah well... all part of growing up I suppose and IT FUCKING SUCKS.

I guess the plan now is make LOTS of money and just become some sort of travelling hermit/monk/Dos Equis man .... do the trifecta method of having 3 or 4 homes dotted around the globe, travel between them, never happy to settle in one place or wth one woman... this is the fate, this is the life.

So be it.

Making lots of money requires dedication to a field or organization.  For example, you might maintain expertise on the latest server or cell phone software.  Eventually you become a project team development leader and move into management.  Then only you know who can do each task, who to call for hiring and resources, and how to get things done.

Or you become a physical therapist, medical technician, nurse, or doctor.  The problem is that medical fields are regulated, and your credentials do not transfer across countries.  Also, you cannot work remotely.  Good careers have golden handcuffs.

Ignore the fantasists writing about copywriting and sales.  Copywriters make $70k per year.  Also ignore drop shipping on Ebay, crypto scams, gambling, pilot, and other glamorous occupations.

I have the money, but 3 or 4 homes would be a pain in the ass to maintain.  Hot women are not going to sit around for 9 months waiting for you to return.  So you will need to find a travelling companion.  Find someone who has done this stuff before.  Look at Neil Strauss.  After visiting a free love commune and swinger party, he put together a harem of three women.  They all got so jealous that he spent the first night on the couch.   He briefly had a bisexual girlfriend who would arrange threesomes.  But easy come, easy go, and she fell in love with another woman.

Why do you think so?

Why do you think so?

I rented a condo abroad for five months without selling my house, and another on the other side of the U.S.

Owners must pay taxes and maintain them all, paying utility bills and cutting the grass, getting mail, etc.  I had burst pipes and roof leaks in two previous houses, plus septic repair, pool installation and maintenance, neighborhood lawsuits, kitchen and bathroom renovations.  Have you ever owned a house?!

I can understand a second home if you visit a place regularly.  You only need a home if you want to store a bunch of stuff, like a bicycle, clothes, etc.  Tell me that you have spent three months per year in a location for the past three years and then I might encourage it.  Otherwise, just rent.

It's sad because software engineering used to be a good career for working remotely, but now it's become a competitive field so remote work is out of the question for most employers. I miss the golden years where you could work from Thailand as a software engineering contractor.

I agree with ignoring the typical bullshit gigs. You forgot "selling jewelry on instagram" lol. But as for sales, I will disagree, I think it looks like a good field to get into. But it's very competitive where I live in. I made a fake linkedin profile with a fake 1st experience in sales and I applied to jobs, it didn't receive a single offer. I would love to break into sales but I don't have any sales experience and even with experience it's hard to find jobs, as my experiment shows.

Yup, I completely agree and feel the same. I wandered around the world for 10 years, working remotely and banging as many chicks I could get ahold of. Now, floating around just isn't the same. So many places are ruined. Mexico City is like being the US now.

Completely agree on having multiple homes. My goal is:

- main house where 8-9 months a year
- secondary house where I live 1-3 months
- float around for the rest of the year

this is the fate, this is the life.  So be it.

This post is contradictory escapism and cope.

Stingy niggards avoid expensive places like Japan.

Making "LOTS of money" is a fantasy, not a plan.

Travelling hermit is an oxymoron.  The Dos Equis "most interesting man in the world" was definitely not a monk!

"this is the fate, this is the life. ... So be it."

What pretentious nonsense!  Fate is something that happens to you, but "life" is something you build.  If you do nothing, then your fate will be shitposting on the internet from your mom's basement.  If you dedicate yourself, then you can build a family, or a business, or go on adventures.

You want minimal accountability like a hermit, the respect of a disciplined monk, and the regard of an accomplished adventurer.  But you just want to travel and get whores.
