A general question - how have you guys got all your different accounts set up online?

The reason I ask is because I essentially just want to have:

- one main email account registered with all the most important things I do i.e. work, retirement fund, tax, bills etc.

- one separate email not linked to the above gmail account (as far as I can see - gmail doesn't let you create different burner accounts - they make you create all new emails under your same account, which is very big brotherish) for social media and everything else. I want it to be on a separate account to the current account I have with Google

- I'm also going to deactivate my current Facebook profile and make a new one ... I've had my current account since it first started, and it feels like Facebook just has too much data on me with that account + I've got just too much crap on that account. I want to start with a fresh one (I only use Facebook right now to keep in contact with some friends and for work purposes anyway)

The reasons I'm doing this are that all my most important friends and family know my personal number, and I'll tell the most important ones my personal email and how to contact me via social media
I really just want there to be as little footprint online as possible unless it's for necessary things. I also want to protect my privacy a little better in the future with a setup like above

I will be signing up for a protonmail next week, but can you use that for social media, or do Youtube, Facebook, twitter, Instagram etc only allow gmail accounts on their sign ups? Is there a way you can easily create a burner type new gmail whole account if that's the case?

Looking for the best way to do this multi layered approach - any advice would be appreciated.

If you close your facebook and try to open a new one, I think they'll still know it's you, and insist on linking you with the existing account. You can delete everything from your facebook wall, and edit the hell out of your info, so your page looks completely different.

However, Faceborg will still have all your data going all the way back, and they will still know more about you than you know about yourself. They can probably predict your upcoming purchases better than you could yourself. Resistance is futile.

I have 7 gmail accounts
My main account I access from my iPhone email app, the others from the Gmail app.
4 of those accounts have a Facebook account (one of which is blocked). I don’t have any personal info on FB and I delete most posts after a few months. FB allows you to switch from one account to the other easily, even from the same phone. Each of my 3 FB accounts has a Tinder account (one of which is banned).

I access Youtube and Twitter from a burner gmail login. I access Instagram from my main email only: be very careful with instagram because it can always identify your various accounts and sends updates from the subscribers of one to the others.

I have two phones numbers but I always use my main one. I never give my phone number to FB or other Apps (except Tinder because I had to).

One question - how have you created that many Google accounts?

Do you just go to the 'Create Your Google Account' page and put in made up/burner information and details, and then once a new account is created, just sign in and out of the different accounts as you need to?

As I said above - I can create new emails, but they keep registering under my existing single Google account.

I had no problem setting up different accounts. Never experienced what you describe with gmail. Besides, my kids and my wife all have created several gmail accounts on my computer and those accounts are by no means linked. On my family PC is a long list of gmail accounts not linked to each other (not my secret accounts obviously).
