What U.S. City is 2nd to New York?

New York City is universally cited as the best city for men in regards to short term relationships.

Second place doesn't seem to have a consensus.

I thought starting a little debate on which city is worthy of a second place might be fun. What do you guys think: Miami? Chicago? Austin? LA?

I've only done the eastern half of the country so I'm going to keep LA, Vegas, and those likes out of my answer.

With that said, I'd easily give my vote to New Orleans if we're exclusively talking about a casual sex spot for single men. Would never recommend wife hunting here.

New Orleans has a great vibe to it meant for younger people on the prowl. You have women of all races from all over the country available where everybody is encouraged to have a loose vibe in one of the few cities in America that actually has a strong identity, all for a pretty reasonable price versus bigger cities.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

o_O I might have to visit NO sounds fun.

LA beats NY imo. I've been to NY and it hasn't wowed me like Vegas or LA. LA is beautiful all around, there's hot chicks on every block and the beaches are nice. I've worked with guys from LA and the only complaints are prices and traffic. Easy way to bypass that is visit sporadically. You also get the prime location of visiting Hawaii and driving out to Vegas. I don't make enough $ to live in LA but it's fun to visit.

Basically anyone from LA is going to say "not LA" and everyone who hasn't spent a ton of time there will say "LA".

As someone who lived in LA...

Not LA.

Go to San Diego.

I would say VEGAS is better than NYC. The girls that you’re seeing will not be there for more than a few days and there goal is to literally get fucked up and have fun for that short time.

This may not always be the case in NYC

No. Both full of degenerates. Fun to visit and party OR settle down AWAY from the madness though.

I vote Chicago. Every time I go there, I think to myself: Damn, I wish I lived there in my 20s/30s.

All the midwest college girls funnel there. Good bar/hookup culture. People are friendlier than in other bigger cities.

There are a lot of them, but considering it is a travel forum, they all seem like valid threads.

I'm not quite sure what people are "falling for," since there isn't a troll element to them. People provided valuable intel about the cities in some of those threads, and that's the whole point of the Travel section.

I love these kind of threads, too, especially when you consider that most Americans cities are unfortunately trash for game. I’d definitely slot Miami Beach in the #2 spot then Chicago in #3.

For short term visit - Las Vegas

For long term visit - Chicago

Pretty big gap after NY, Chicago and Vegas (not living though) I find

California? Come on now, that place is bunk compared to NYC. Many people just go to socal because the weather is nice - that's really it. Los Angeles doesn't have as good of a party life unless you're really rich, and the logistics are crappy. Girls..? I don't know how someone can say LA has better girls than NYC - it's basically the same looks wise and I find NYC girls are easier or at least more down to earth...they're cities that attract domestic transplants and foreign expats equally more or less (more people visit NYC for tourism though).

This thread's funny as shit. I won't mention the forum, but there's a well known PUA forum which insists that you HAVE to live in a big city in order to pickup. On this forum, everyone from a big city says their own big city sucks so you have to live in some other big city.

In other words, every single city sucks, large or small, sucks for game. In reality, if you are good looking and have good game, you will have good results, regardless of the city.

What U.S. City is 2nd to New York?

Having said that, my experience with various cities:

1. NYC: exceptional, since most everyone walks. Huge percentage of women from foreign countries. Women are extremely aggressive, the most forward in any city I've visited.

Downsides: outrageously expensive. Everyone's a scammer. Enormous crime problem. Trashy ghettoes near Columbia University.

2. LA: very good. Daygame is possible, but nobody walks so night game is where it's at. Quality of women is reasonable but outrageously over-rated, to a comical degree, and it's almost certainly getting worse over time.

Downsides: very expensive housing. Aside from that, cost of living is not that bad. LA and SD have or at least had reps for hot chicks. I think. That rep is at many, many decades out of date. What is LA now, 60, 70, 80% Mexican and Central American? I don't see how it'd be much different from visiting Mexico. Then there's a sizable Asian population because of the colleges and universities. So, the city is like what, 10% white? I haven't visited in 5 years. I can't imagine how skewed the numbers are at this point. But the last time I was there, it was still possible to find hot chicks in certain clubs and bars and it's solid, as long as you're "in the know."

3. Chicago. I haven't had a chance to explore the city much. I'm usually there for business for 2 or 3 days at a time. I've only sampled a small portion of the night life. I probably would've been better off if I knew some of the locals but don't have many connections there. It was ok to good, from what little I sampled of it. Daygame seems really bad? Weather is a factor, maybe it's a great city in summer and spring.

4. Miami. Have spent even less time there than in Chicago. Tons of black and brown chicks. Not really my thing. It's way too hot and humid. I don't see the point unless you like living in a sauna.

5. Vegas. Awful. Awful. Tons and tons of prostitutes working the hotels and casinos. It's reputation as a party city means every last middle aged and senior goofball trying to rediscover the fountain of youth will visit multiple times during their retirement. Close to CA, AZ and Mexico, so huge numbers of hispanics flood the city. Everything is expensive. Great way to lose money. Honestly, who enjoys losing money? Because that's pretty much the whole point of the city, to rip you off.

^Lol why is the high minority population a bad thing? The Asians and Latinas in LA are bad as fuck, way more attractive than the plastic blondes running around the place.

Can anyone do a breakdown of San Francisco vs Chicago? Is Chicago better in every respect except for weather?

SF, lol. That city has been completely inundated with Chinese and Indian single male tech workers. The ratios are horribly skewed everywhere for nightlife. You'll feel very much out of place if you aren't employed in tech, or a rich kid from Marin county.

HUGE, huge drug culture. Dolo in particular is overrun with potheads every weekend. Lots of dealers running around too. Everyone lies around smoking pot all day long, the fuck?

The caliber of women is average-ish. Not horrible, though. Daytime is much better for quality. Night time is average for selection, but just barely. It's the caliber of an average-ish smaller town, only with many more people. Huge hordes of thirsty guys. Expect stereotypically bad ratios: 3 to 1, 4 to 1, or worse. Large contingents of sausage fests.

The women are incredibly spoiled. 5's to 7's expect to be spoiled, and expect access to the best looking men, as well as the most financially successful or both. Decent looking cougars who have kept themselves up to any reasonable degree are in huge demand because of so many wealthy men with huge disposable incomes.

The very best aspect of SF's social scene are the music festivals. Many are surprisingly affordable, but costs can add up if you insist on partying every weekend. This is where many of the more attractive women in SF congregate, but even here it's hit and miss since they might not stay for long. There are also strings attached. These events can become quickly overrun with homosexuals. Drug use is rampant and the weak willed can get sucked in all too easily.

There are huge cons to living in the city: cost of housing is the highest in the US, outside of NYC. Cleanliness is nonexistent. The streets smell like piss all the time. Huge homeless problem. Rampant crime. Rampant drug use. Extreme economic inequality.

A decent selection of attractive 20 something girls, but it often feels like you're swimming through the sewer to get to them. It's easy to say that the tech industry has destroyed the social scene because it's true in large part. But then you have talk about exorbitant costs, filthy streets, comical tolerance for crime and drugs and even more shit than I care to even discuss.

There are also lots of boomer former hippies who have kids and even grandkids by now who are totally spoiled trust fund baby dicks.

There's a large and 'thriving' pua scene, or at least there was, as of a few years ago. Most of those guys are bottom feeders, but there's enough women so that that lifestyle is possible. Even fulfilling since those guys are used to not getting laid at all.

How about Minneapolis or Milwaukee? If you’re looking to settle down and grow roots in the long term? Visited Milwaukee earlier this year, seems like it’d be a nice spot w/ reasonable cost of living.

I could do Phoenix if it weren’t so sprawly. Same with Denver.

Portland and Seattle seem like decent choices...I’m not worried about SJWs, and tech nerds don’t impact my game. Salt Lake City could be good too.

Yeah I want good public transportation and easy access to mountains, hiking, outdoorsy stuff like that.

I like this analysis of San Francisco. I don't quite understand how too many Chinese and Indian men affects white men. Indian men in particular are spam approaching white women (I see this with Indian men in Dallas). I don't see it as much in nightlife with the Chinese men, but I'm guessing the Chinese men are active on dating sites/apps. The vast majority of white women turn down Chinese and Indian men. The white women get ego validation out of this but just really get annoyed that their time is being wasted.

I see San Francisco as having hordes of Chinese men, Indian men, cucked white guys, nerdy/soy boy/male feminist white boys not getting laid. I also see a lot of white women not getting laid there either. A lot of the white women there are careerist SJWs/feminists etc. Seems like a pretty bad deal for both sides.

My city sucks too. Dallas.

Dallas has gotten some of the surplus Chinese and Indian male tech workers. Dallas also has many females that would be staight out of DC casting call, the whole SJW/feminist/careerist variety. Then there is something called Dallitude. Dallas is known for its pretentiousness. White women are extremely demanding in the central city neighborhoods. You can run great cocky and funny game here and the women while give you a saccharine line that they are flattered you are approaching them but they don't want to see you. This is especially true of women from the Southern small towns near Dallas (think Arkansas, Louisiana) who moved to the big city for work. I'm from New Jersey so I don't appreciate mamby pamby politeness. I appreciate it when people are real. Dallas people are a little milquetoast for my taste.

One of the hallmarks of Dallas women is their apathy. Many of them are really aren't all that interesting or interested about anything. Due to the bad sex ratios here, the girls are getting approached constantly and they really aren't impressed.. The threshold of what it takes to get a date here and land a date here is higher than in many places. Also, since people generally move to Dallas for work reasons and nothing else, you do get a lot of worker bee drones here who live here only for their career but would rather live somewhere else.

I agree and just added to that.

Phoenix has some positives but more negatives. The heat and the lack of career options are the big ones. The women are ok, but there is a fair amount of attitude you'll get if you are running night game in Scottsdale. Phoenix is one of the few cities where the suburbs (Scottsdale, Tempe) have nightlife that is on par or better than the main central city.

Day game is tough there. You can day game on the hiking trails of Piestewa and Camelback during the October-April time period. It's usually a bad idea in the summer. Summer daygame would be limited to air conditioned spots like grocery stores and malls, which isn't much unlike Dallas, where I live now.

If Phoenix had better employment options, it would be a better place to live than Dallas.
