Pull overs vs bench press

Pull overs vs bench press

Been doing both for 3 months but sprained by left pec for the first time ever and I'll say this:nothing works deep into your chest like pull overs while also working shoulders and lats.
In the old days every gym had a pull over machine. This has gone
n the way of vinyl records and VHS tapes so we all do weighted pull overs.

Seems like a similar grouping to muscle-ups.

I forgot all about Pullovers! I started out doing them as a teen but I just didn't get any mind/muscle connection and was too impatient I guess. Everyone just benched instead so I stuck with that.

But I have a love/hate thing for the Bench. It gets results but I hate that bench-presser/moobish look it gives you. I've even thought about just ditching them and doing push-ups 'cos push-up bodies look natural (if not 'big').

It's walking a tightrope. Looking fit and strong but not like a Bodybuilder. It can be a cheesy look I'm afraid and has to be gauged right. You have to look like you're just naturally fit and strong, as unfair as that sounds. Bench-presses make you look like a bodybuilder. I don't know anything about pullovers but I'll give them a fair go.

I do them often but really they are more tricep and shoulder isolated. Not as much chest activation as a pressing movement. I do them as a tricep accessory.
