Best Messaging App

The best worldwide messaging app hands down is

whatsapp.com

It can message (for free) to any user regardless of country they are in!! You can send pictures, voice memos, text messages - all without changing your local number of whatever country you are in!

You can even message users who use different devices i.e Blackberry --> iphone --> Nokia device..it does not matter.

When you download it, it checks your existing contacts to see who is already using whatsapp, and it automatically adds them to your favorites.

The app costs money .99C (and worth every penny), but all messages are free once you own a license to the app. But hey, you did say you wanted the best messaging app available, right?

Yes, a lot of people have it....99 cents is not a bank breaker dude, and as soon as word spreads on how you can IM, voice memo, photo exchange and chat for free...it will grown in popularity.

An alternative free app that you can send actual sms text messages to any cell number worldwide is

http://heywire.com/

However, if you are texting from a US number to a Colombia number, unless they have the app heywire, will not be able to respond to you!

I personally love whatsapp!

Mixx, you love your Iphone, innit? I didn't like the fact that whasapp goes through my contact list. I found that a bit invasive. I downloaded it but it's just sitting on my phone as I contemplate my next move.

I have never heard of it before, so I dont really think people use it in places like Colombia.

Not 100% sure. Ill have to ask some of my Colombian chicks what the most popular thing to use is.

Whatsapp is the most popular messaging service. If you have a Blackberry you can also use BBM which is very popular and it's free, but the downside is that you can only communicate with other Blackberry's. Whatsapp is better since you can communicate with every phone that has Whatsapp installed!

Ha! careful making assumptions!

Colombia is extremely addicted to whatsapp, even more then their blackberry messenger! Every girl I know is using it as it runs on just about every platform.

Like mentioned before, Viber is cool and Whatapp. Some of my friends and I have started using HeyTell.

You press a button speak and it automaticly sends what you said. Almost like a push-to-talk thing. It is great for sending quick voice messages if you aren't in a position to type or you don't feel like typing.
