I keep trying to spend time in the real world, but everyone I meet out there is staring into their stupid phones and is emotionally engaged online in some way.

Now what?

Wave to get their attention if their ear buds are in and say:

How are you and your phone doing?

Are you getting along?

I hate it when the two of you fight.

Sometimes this will make them sufficiently present that you can have a conversation about whatever you want.

This is similar to what LD was saying about doing loopy shit to distract violent people. It breaks the trance and allows you to get their attention.

I have found that a lot of women on the bus are actually sick of their phones and happily engage once you get the headphones off.

Others however are too far gone.

I have also interrupted to ask what they are listening to, and tell them I just listened to a podcast about a person who had a near death experience, left their body, and experienced the after life.

Old school chick crack. If a topic like this doesn't get their full attention, they are either a tranny, a robot, or fully enslaved to their electronic masters.

Being able to decipher bad information from good is becoming one of the most important skills in such an information-heavy, internet-reliant society. There's a lot of great stuff available for free on youtube, as others have mentioned, but also a lot of complete nonsense.

As an aside, anyone who genuinely believes the flat earth stuff is a legitimate moron.

Deb running that curious old guy game to the max. Honestly sometimes old people have the best indirect game.

It always starts with some variation of "what are you doing" and evolves into "do (x) for me." It's super effective too. I need to learn that put that in my arsenal.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.
