Are dating apps good/bad for determining your potential success in a foreign country?

I am trying to figure out if one can learn something about how successful someone might be based on the number and/or quality of responses they get from dating apps in various countries.

In your experience, do you think this information is useful?
1. Can you determine whether you might do better in some countries compared to others?
2. Could it show how thirsty the women are in a respective country?
3. Will it give you an indication of the quality of women?

What has been your actual experience in these areas?

No, unless I change location but just because I get swiped right on like no tomorrow, doesn't mean I'm a success although I do tend to do very well in second tier Russia.

#2 is definitely a no in Taiwan. Used paid boosts but I had nearly 200 matches prior to my flight's arrival. After eliminating the ones too far away, collecting numbers and so on only like 8 could be bothered to meet up in person. Only 4 of them came inside my apartment.

50% conversion rate of those I met in person. Probably better than in a western country I figure but I wouldn't call it super thirsty. If anything I would call it super boring because none of these chicks were down for meeting on weekdays. Taiwan is probably ok for a young virgin but I'm an old and I would rather be spoiled by FWBs.

2% conversion rate (out of 200) seems bad but it's consistent with the Tinder swiping experiments I've seen off Reddit and Bodybuilding dotcom. It's not really a great app for guys. Even fake Chads on the swiping experiments never seem to get higher than 8% match rate per 1,000 without using paid boosts. I wasn't counting so I have no idea how many women I swiped on in Taipei (I only knew my match count).

It depends on how you define "success". If you mostly do online game, by definition the number and quality of matches you get in a country will determine your success. Does your online performance predict how you'll do offline? Not necessarily - I imagine there's a correlation, but there are other factors that will influence your outcomes, such as social circle, the kind of game you run, etc.

Another thing to note is that the userbases for dating apps vary depending on country (and app), and even within the same country there are niches that will respond in different ways to your profile and might skew your perception of the market.

For example, in some countries there's a "gringo hunter" niche. Women who like banging foreigners. They could be overrepresented in your matches, making you think you'll do very well in the country, while you'll actually be banging skanks that have gone through a real dick plantation before meeting you.

That happened to me in Georgia. There was this one women I matched with admitted she's banged several foreign guys - including black men (plural) she met at nightclubs (and she admitted to using drugs too). This is a country that only stocks shitty durex condoms from China that wouldn't fit on BBC dicks so she likely had HIV and I ghosted hard.

Even the girls I met in Taiwan I wouldn't have had a clue who they had sex with unless they admitted to me like the Georgian gal. It's possible before them they got railed hard by a dozen sexpats white and black.

I don’t think the apps are super representative. For example, plenty of Latinas might like you on Tinder, but they are notoriously flakey. You might have better or worse luck in real life situations.

What's with the hate on Durex? Seen this now a few times in several posts on this site.

I've been using Durex for 20 years and am very happy. Never broke, never any issues. Also it's manufactured by one of the most reputable companies in CPG (Reckitt Benckiser).

Am really curious.[Image: huh.gif]

There's been cases of Durex condoms made in China and they were fake, the quality was lower. They weren't really Durex.

Also, I heard in China someone got busted for "reclying" condoms.

Thanks, interesting.

That's like saying don't ever buy LV bags (or whatever fashion brand you prefer) because they have been counterfeits of LV. It's more a China problem, not a Durex problem.

If you buy at a reputable retailer outside China, I don't think there is any risk (risk of random condom breaking is probably higher that being so unlucky to get a fake one).

One of the primary reasons for condoms breaking is poor lubrication and improper fit.
If your condom starts to dry out while banging, either stimulate her better, apply some lube or grab a new condom.
Otherwise, you're just begging for it to break.

I would say they are great except only Tinder allows you to change your location, the other apps do not.

On dating apps, women have just your looks to go by so common sense says that the more matches you have in a given country as well as women messaging you, the more desirable you are. People will argue that other things like game and being in-person matters and I don't completely disagree with that except if you are in a foreign land, not as familiar then that is just an added hassle.

I do think that there are countries out there that are so good for guys with a certain look that minimal game is needed and on the other hand, there are countries and cities so bad for guys of a certain appearance that not even all the game in the world could save you.

As somebody who did this a lot in the past (before discovering RVF), Tinder can be a reasonably good indicator. But I feel people doing it are falling into the trap of min/maxing to find "the best place". This is just a mental buffer that your brain uses to stop you taking action. Do some research, find a place that seems decent (which you also think you'll personally like - this is important) and go there.
