Priority Pass: Make your airport wait seamless and cheap

Big cosign on the Priority Pass. The layover shower is super clutch especially when flying intercontinental.

Don't waste your money buying just get on or the credit cards that has it. I've had the CSR for years and love it.

I've taken girls that weren't traveling with me as guests into the lounge when we happened to be in the same airport terminal for a drink before (girls check in on facebook and there have been a few times I see it and have texted them to meet me up). Never have done it with someone I met at the airport though.

Its an impressive and smooth move if you can pull it off. Maybe scan your departure gate and find someone to hit up.

The priority pass must have changed then. I have never paid any additional fees while using it. I got this for free with my chase sapphire card and later purchased it for a year. I don’t recall ever paying any visit fees

AMEX Platinum comes with free 5-year Priority Pass membership, great travel rewards, $200/year of Uber credit, access to Centurion Lounges (never been to one but supposed to be sick--in about 8-10 US airports plus HK, unfortunately I signed up for this card right after getting back from HK last year), a bunch of other perks. Cost is $500/year but waived for the first year IIRC and the Uber credit alone eats up a lot of that. Highly recommended. Plus it's a solid metal card which can be useful around impressionable types.

Chase Sapphire has similar perks I believe but can't vouch for it personally.

I got the same card in Canada, obviously you get more perks in the USA.

I have used two lounges with the priority card and I haven't been impressed.

Some of my friends have transferred to the world elite cards, which apparently gives you more access to more lounges.

Yeh if you have a priority pass select through a CC then they now charge for an extra guest. Being able to eat at a restaurant is a huge plus since most US lounges serve awful food and can be overcrowded.

Yes the Centurion lounges are great but can be overcrowded. I believe if you don’t have the card you can pay 50 bucks to get in as long as you have an American Express branded card.

Chase Sapphire Reserve costs $450 per year, but you get $300 in reimbursement on your first $300 in travel, free tsa pre check, and free priority pass. Not to mention they dont charge you 3% foreign transaction fee which is really a scam when CC companies do.

I have never been charged a fee with priority pass. Last week I brought a guest with me at no charge.

At the airport i'm too poor to afford upgrades (it's been that way about 5yrs now) but I have no idea about game there. I wish I had tried earlier.

I´ve never been charged any fees for actually entering. Maybe the bank takes care of that. I do have to sign a receipt but it doesnt actually charge me.

I agree that Priority Pass is solid. If you can get the Amex Platinum, it will come with priority pass, access to Delta Skylounge and the Centurion Lounges, so this is likely the best card for someone that travels extensively and can justify the $499 a year fee.

Had it ten years ago but got frustrated with it only being accepted at "select" lounges, which were never the ones near my concourse. Amex platinum and a few other credit cards give similar access with less red tape. If you are not paying for PP separately that's a better deal, probably. All depends on what airline you fly, though - might work better for some people.

Has anyone used the Founders Card?

The Hotel benefits look good, including Cesars Total Rewards Platinum membership.

I just switched to a Travel Visa that gives me Priority Pass, and of course Halifax doesn't have a lounge. I swear Atlantic Canada is a 2nd world country, literally 20 years behind the rest of Canada. So annoying, but better winters than everywhere but Vancouver, and fuck that place.

Funny thing is that most third world countries have really good lounges. Marrakesh had two in a tiny airport, within 100 meters and they were both really good. Free scotch, nice chairs and imported beer.

Just thought of this thread. I am sitting in a lounge waiting for my next flight. I wasnt able to sleep during my night flight so coming in here is very relaxed and cosy, no noises, no babies or people yelling. Just had a refreshing shower, ate free breakfast and am downing a few free cold ones before my next flight. I wouldn't travel any other way.
