Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee dies aged 95

It's happening, guys! The day has finally came!
Legendary comic book writer and editor Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95, at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

With God's help, I'll conquer this terrible affliction.

Hear he was having some rough years since his wife died. And it's hard to go out more "on top" than he was. He took a children's book medium and turned into a multi billion dollar hollywood multmedia empire with hustle and vision.

I have so many childhood memories of Marvel comic books. One of things that I noticed even as a child (1980s) was the difference in quality between Marvel and DC comic books. Marvel's designs were more detailed and the graphics were insane whereas DC's comic books like Superman and Batman where square and horribly drawn.

RIP Stan Lee.

Stan was the 1st guy to make superheroes "flawed", which is always why I liked Marvel more than DC also. DC's heroes like Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman were so perfect, but Stan made Marvels' heroes more messed up and realistic. Superman is the perfect man, the ubermensch, Wonder woman is the perfect woman made from Greek Gods & Goddesses, Batman is the apex of man's physical and mental ability to fight and deduce crimes.

But Spider-Man was a big nerd who was bullied and let his uncle die from his lack of responsibility. Hulk was an unstable genius who experimented on himself and made himself an uncontrollable rage monster. The X-Men were freaks and outcasts from society for being born having weird genetic defects. Captain America was the best soldier ever for the WW2 era, but he was frozen in ice for decades and when he awoke most of his friends and family were gone and he was a man out of his time in a country he didn't recognize anymore. Iron Man was a tech genius who made a suit of armor into the best weapon in the world, but he was crippled with heart trouble so he had to wear the suit constantly to save himself. The Fantastic Four's science experiments changed themselves forever, The Thing was turned into a freak, but the rest kept their human appearances...life isn't fair.

He made these larger than life characters accessible to average people, and made them identifiable in a way that DC's perfect characters never could be.

So from what I understand his daughter and former business manager are colluding to steal his estate against his wishes? Can anyone elaborate?

She went last year, and they have been married since the early 40s. It's hard to lose someone you've been with for that long.

On the bright side, God willing I hope to find that kind of lasting love someday.

Actually Charles Shultz, the creator of Peanuts, was recognized for doing something similar, with relatable, flawed cartoon characters and longer story arcs. However, Charlie Brown was certainly no super hero. Stan Lee still deserves credit for being a pioneer in bringing more complex characters to this genre of comics.

I had to double check that, given that I'm not much of a comic book fan. But yes...you are right: Stanley Lieber was his real name and he was Jewish.

A quick Wikipedia check shows that he was influential in changing the Comics Code Authority in 1970. Apparently, this code allowed for sympathetic depiction of criminal behavior, corruption among public officials and the killing of law-enforcement officers.

I don't know enough about Mr. Lieber and I'll gladly admit ignorance. But this is sounding like Every. Single. Time.

This thread went over 10 posts without the inevitable, and irrelevant, Jew reference. I'm very impressed but expect this thread to devolve into how he's responsible for low birthrates in White countries, feminism, and BLM. I've got rep point for anyone who can type up cogent post linking him to ills of the West.

Iron Man had a serious struggle with alcoholism in the comics. He definitely had some low points, even losing his company once due to his drinking. That was his flaw, although it was not really used in the Marvel movies. Obviously the studio avoided this aspect so they could still market the character to children, keeping him more funny and less dark.

Iron man was even more interesting at his birth. They wanted to see if they could make a combination of all THE most hated stereotypes 60s people hated (A rich, weapons developer, war profiteer, arrogant playboy alcoholic) and make him sympathetic. They were sort of doing what they were doing with Jaime in Game of Thrones, only decades earlier.

Stan Lee - born (((Stanley Martin Lieber)))

All of the old school comic "heroes" are Jewish.
Batman, Superman, Captain America, Spiderman, X-men, Fantastic Four, Avengers, etc, etc
ALL of them.

Oy vey, tell me about it. Don't forget how Stanley Lieber totally ripped off that other Jew bum (((Jacob Kurtzberg))) and stole all the money for Jack Kirby's characters and publishing rights.
