Who are the best to learn from in 2018?

Similar to the thread in the game forum. Who are the best to learn from in 2018 for making money?

I've read and gone through probably 99% of the essentials. Tai Lopez, Felix Dennis, Tim Ferriss, Napoleon Hill, Gary Vaynerchuk, I won't go on.

I learned really good stuff but nothing that truly stuck in terms of a reliable way to make good money doing something that I like, generates good income, is sustainable, location independent, and doesn't compromise my lifestyle too much. Obviously even more positive factors I can think of.

Just my 2 cents, not being overly negative: I think Vaynerchuk is Oprah for Guys and Tim Ferriss is a great marketing guy with lots of practical look-a-like nonsense, advertising niche products.

Try Franklin Hatchett, Dan Lok, the Empire Podcast and Valuetainment.

"The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilised community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others...in the part which merely concerns himself, his independence is, of right, absolute." - John Stuart Mill, On Liberty

Making money is pretty vague. HOW do you want to make money?

Consulting, investing, dropshipping, copywriting etc.

Few guys are going to be masters in all of these realms. Tai Lopez strikes me as a snake oil salesman for many reasons, but one reason is that he jumps from one trend to the next.

Niche down. Find out how your are going to make money, then seek out a guy who is going to lead you down that path.

Most of these business gurus are Tony Robbins-lite and are just giving you entrepreneur porn to make you feel good. How many of these guys are giving solid advice?

Surprisingly, I've been enjoying Sam Ovens' videos. The guy just seemed like a walking meme at first--another Tai Lopez. But he actually offers some really solid advice on productivity.

^I agree - this is way too general an approach and a lot of what's out there for success books is just not actionable. Tony Robbins in particular strikes me as a guy who's particularly good at giving speeches but I'm not quite sure what his area of expertise really is.

I'm not a fan of Ferriss or Vaynerchuck either, particularly the former. The four hour work week is an exercise in asshattery - real life success doesn't work like that, but it sure sounds good and sells books.

Valuetainment isn't a bad series of YouTube vids. That and some others might get the gears going helping you decide what you want to do, but you need to decide or at least try a few different things.
